That Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights were considered bad Mel Brooks films. Who considers Spaceballs a bad Mel Brooks film? Because they are wrong, and they should be ashamed of themselves. For some reason Spaceballs got mixed reviews back when it was released. It might as well qualify as a 'cult classic' since a lot of people love it in retrospect.

That the British Charlize Theron/“Mr. F” episodes of the initial run of “Arrested Development” are almost universally regarded as the worst part of the series. I thought the episodes and the story were hilarious. Michael: These are for British eyes only Rita: Luckily, my whole *face* is British.

I didn't realise Freddy Got Fingered is considered by some to be one of the worst movies of all time. I thought it was just a dumb not-that-notable comedy which actually has some funny moments in it. "What the hell was THAT shit?!" One of the few times I've heard my Mom swear was after seeing Freddy...

I thought the episodes and the story were hilarious. Wait, really? I thought she was so freaking charming in that role. She was great in the role. She was not the problem. The problems, IMO, were the length of the arc and the punchline. It was literally a four or five episode story arc revolving around one tasteless punchline. She's mentally retarded. Get it? She's mentally retarded. Laugh at this beautiful woman acting like a child and doing stupid things that she can't help because of her disability. It was way too drawn out for very little payoff.

FFVIII was the first game I fully fell in love with. Finding out how divisive it was among fans was a shock.

That Mark was so disliked on Parks I liked Mark and always viewed him as sort of the straight man on "Parks & Recreation." He was always the level-headed one among a gang of lunatics and cartoon characters. Maybe the reason people didn't like his character was because he was so out of place in Pawnee, especially when you measure him against the zaniness of Tom or Chris or the buffoonery of Jerry or Andy. That actually brings me to another pop culture opinion that surprises me: that people liked seasons 6 and 7 of "Parks & Recreation." Not only are they the worst seasons of the series (and that includes the forgettable first season) but they're up there with the worst seasons of any show that I liked. Just episode after episode is painfully unfunny and you wonder how the show could have fallen so far from the heights they achieved in seasons 3 and 4. We're talking season 8 of "The Office" levels of bad.

I liked 6 and 7, they had enough high points to keep me watching but they were a series of moments and set pieces rather than the superb writing of earlier.

My family had an N64. Everyone else had a Playstation. Nobody knew who Link was and none of them played Zelda.
I was f***ing baffled.

People have been saying the Simpsons have been going downhill since the premier of the 2nd season.

That people shat on Lil Wayne in his prime and just Southern hiphop in general. I'm from the South so yeah but still. I always just thought he was kind of background noise in hip hop, and then it seemed like out of the blue he was the biggest star in the genre and talked about as one of the greatest. Always thought that was weird.

People have been saying the Simpsons have been going downhill since the premier of the 2nd season. Has anyone in the history of the universe ever really claimed that? I thought it has been pretty much consensus that The Simpsons have only really been picking up steam by season 3.

A positive one - I was thrilled to find out that Weird Al is pretty much universally beloved as a national treasure. I was a gigantic fan of him in elementary and middle school and was picked on pretty harshly for it, as just about everyone took him as someone who "made fun of" the music they liked.

The general disdain for Constantine. I mean, FWIW, I've never read Hellblazer so maybe my opinion is moot, but I always thought it was perfectly fine action/horror fare.

Years ago, I was surprised to find out that Temple of Doom is widely disliked. Yeah I just learned that watching the Rental Reviews series. Between the hate Crystal skull, years of nostalgia, people just forget that they hated one of the originals. Same for Star Wars. Everyone hated the prequels so much that didn’t know that people dislike return of the Jedi

Me: "Fallout 3 was a lot of fun, let's see what Reddit thinks" Reddit: 3 is a difficult one to place for me. The main quest line is kinda bleh, and the Capital Wasteland is a slog to get around in. However, a lot of the side stuff is enjoyable, and most of the companions are interesting. New Vegas though...
