For me, the best show openings are the ones that catch the audience up on the premise of the show like "The Brady Bunch," "Gilligan's Island," and "The Jeffersons."

I just started rewatching The Boondocks and forgot how great that theme song is.

I'm going to name too many to put a video with each. Look them up I guess. But some of my favorites...
- JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. - AVENGERS : EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES. - Big Blue Marble (the "Closer" version of the theme) - For a "modern" intro style, the Modern Family one(s) are memorable with a catchy jingle. - Absolutely Fabulous (Driscoll/Edmondson version) - The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour (polarizing show, but everyone agrees that the theme song was epic. I guess Mark Goodson Productions agreed too, as they reused the theme for The Price is Right) - Clannad (either) - Lupin the 3rd - Mary Tyler Moore Show...get ready for controversy...I am thinking of SEASON ONE's version only. Yes, this was before they put in the lyrics we all remember. But the song just had teeth to it, with the bongos and horns and all. - Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. ALL OF THEM. When a new season came, I'd spend one episode disappointed the previous theme was gone, but then the new one grew on me all the same. - "Look at this studio, filled with glamorous prizes...!" (and I lean towards the pre-1983 version with Alan Thicke's "Big Wheels" TYVM) - "Today these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy....!" - "This is the Evergreen Forest. Quiet, peaceful, serene..." - "From days of long ago..." - Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers - He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - Transformers. The post-movie version, especially. - WWF Superstars of Wrestling, 1986-1989 (the "filmreel" opening) - ECW Hardcore TV (Closer/Thunderkiss version) - GWF Supercard 1992-93

The best theme song of all time is:
And because I need to antidote myself for praising a country song:
And since someone mentioned anime, here's simultaneously the awesomest, the stupidest, and the least representative-for-its-show anime intro ever:
HARD ROCK SAVE THE SPACE indeed.

Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns. Yet by the blade of knights, mankind was given hope...

Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns. Yet by the blade of knights, mankind was given hope... Every time I see Simon Bates in your sig, I can’t help but think of this...

I just binged the first half of Mayans and while I'm digging it, I just started watching Sons again. But, I have to say, I like the Mayans theme a LOT better.

With such an awesome concept, it’s really unfortunate the intro was the best part of this show.

I'm gonna start this off with the rock version of My Secret Identity I had completely forgotten about this shit. A Dick Tracy reference..awesome. One of my fav shows back in the day. I rewatched the series a year or 2 ago. Still holds up

I've been looking for an excuse to post this for a while and now a chance presents itself: We didn't deserve how good Pete and Pete was at everything. Show ran from 91-96 when this type of humor was very much not in vogue. It’s insane that it got made at all, much less that it has this legacy. It’s regular run ended when I was 11 and I still remember it.
