Heard about it today on 83 Weeks. WHW this week and 83 Weeks next week are gonna cover Arn topics, leading into an Arn Anderson show debut in September. Super excited here. This is funny because just yesterday I read a quote from him talking about WWE's podcast network and he claimed the podcast bubble's burst. Conrad explained it recently. I can’t quote it word for word but it was something along the lines that a podcaster was bragging about the numbers they were doing but it was brought to light that they were lying about it. He sounded pretty pissed about that because it’s affected his income. As someone has already mentioned the data for keeping track of what numbers podcasts are doing is easier to track now. Perception and hype are very important when bringing in revenue. Advertisers were throwing loads of cash at these thought to be hot properties. Colt Cabana did well. That’s a big part of why he didn’t want to take that Punk podcast down. It kept people talking about him. Now that the bubble has popped he doesn’t even care about doing a podcast anymore. Serious buzz can lead to big revenue. Tony Schiavone was able to pay for his daughter’s wedding just doing a podcast once a week. Conrad made a fortune himself. He’s said repeatedly that he wouldn’t be doing all these podcasts if there wasn’t money in it. He’s the king of podcasting for a reason. I doubt that the WWE would’ve gotten that big deal with Fox if it wasn’t for all the news hyping the potentially billions of dollars deal they have with Saudi Arabia. Perception can go a long way. If the Fox deal tanks I don’t see anyone offering the WWE a big network deal any time soon again.

In the horsemen dvd he made it sound like every fight was real. Him discussing attacking Dusty in the parking lot is the first thing I thought of when I saw he was doing a podcast. I see this being a train wreck personally I thought him and JR was going to be a trainwreck and it's been really solid so far. Conrad showed with JR, that he can tailor his "schtick" with each cohost. I'm really interested to see how it goes with Arn.

Is there a name for this podcast yet? And I'm pretty sure Conrad has already addressed that Arn has been hesitant to talk out of character, and that he understands that a show like that wouldn't work, as basically all Conrads shows have been behind the scenes heavy.

It's crazy after all these years that Arn still wants to keep to kayfabe so strongly.

I agree, with JR, you're not going to hear him read lines from a rap album like Tony does on What Happened When. They have some levity, but not too much for the Grilling JR Podcast. The only podcast I'm not too crazy about is Bischoff's as he never remembers anything, the only episode I liked was the one about WCW going to North Korea in 95.

Well the Sid fight story will be awkward at best,
“So you almost died...”

It's crazy after all these years that Arn still wants to keep to kayfabe so strongly. I was blown away by that way back when the Four Horsemen DVD came out. From what I heard about Arn's RF shoot it was more of the same. On a recent STWW, Conrad told Bruce that he was starting a podcast with Arn. Bruce kind of chuckled and replied "good luck with that." Inferring that Conrad wasn't going to get much out of Arn.

At least he keeps kayfabe because he believes in his work. It's not like some old school guys who keep kayfabe in an attempt to belittle fans and hurt potential trainees.

I’m pretty sure Conrad had a “Come to Connie” talk with Arn about what’s expected out of him. He’s not going to waste his time with Arn if he’s not going to be open. I’m sure there was enough financial incentive to have Arn motivated to speak up.

Ok I found the feed for anyone who wants to get subbed.
"ARN" (all capitals) is the name of the show. Updates at 6AM eastern on Tuesdays (starts tomorrow it seems).
I like the name, it's straight and to the point, kinda like Arn himself.

It's a bit dry.... but I'm enjoying Arn telling the story. Him doing the blue chew ad as Kevin Sullivan was hilarious.

The Road Warrior story is fascinating. They might not have been found had Matt Borne not been fired and Ole needed to find someone to go with Arn.

You could feel Arn getting more comfortable as the show goes on. I think as Arn gets more comfortable with Conrad, his humor will come out. You get some of it, but I think it will be better.

I wonder if he will address the rumors about him talked about in the Ring of Hell book.
