Great match that did a lot to warm me up to Page, but still think this was the right choice. Little confused where Jericho goes from here though with Kenny also losing - Cody as the first challenger maybe?

Page is a mid-tier guy at best, this was the right choice

Definitely the right call. Having a heel champ for someone to chase when the TV show starts up gives infinitely more storyline opportunities.
Also Jericho basically has the ultimate death move in wrestling now with his big silly elbow so it makes sense to have him as the champ to beat.

I think they can make Pac work even if its heel v heel. With Mox in theory being g back for TV maybe he gets the nod.
But yes right choice. Good showing for Hangman but unfortunately they didnt do a good job building him up since May until the last week or so.

How long does Jericho hold it? I can see him having a few feuds with upcoming talent (Allin ,Sammy, etc) where they come close. Before losing to someone like PAC,Omega or Moxley.

I’m happy with this.
Build Jericho up as a long Champion and then have him drop it to Omega.

Putting the title on a heel makes the most sense and Jericho is a credible champion.
I’m a big Adam Page fan, but this would be too soon to make him champ.
I would probably do Jericho/Cody at the November PPV with MJF finally turning and costing Cody the title.

Bad move. The first thing you're showing your new tv audience is an old, out of shape guy who looks like he got tossed out of a Misfits reunion concert. It's bad optics.

Loved it. I was genuinely worried Page would win. Love the dude, but think Jericho is the right call.

Makes sense. Jericho is more well known than Page, he totes the company flag as much as Cody, he's legit, he's a heel so you're going to get a lot of dudes gunning for him, he's got connections to every company so that's someone people will tune in to watch, he's a legend, he's also got storyline connections to the Moxleys, Omegas and Codys of the world.
This was the best move.
Page will rise up in due time. He's got potential to be the young Sting-like babyface for the next decade if they can work it out.

I feel like Jericho kind of had to be the guy if Cody's trying to run with "AEW is picking up the "Wrestling on TNT" torch that dropped when WCW died" idea.
I can see where it turns off the people who wanted something new, young, and progressive to stick it up Vince's sclerotic ass, but it's looking like Nyla Rose is the one who is going to do that.

I was rooting for Page, but it makes sense.
I do still think Page may get the title first of any of the Elite guys, but guessing he feuds with PAC first. If he beats the guy who beat Omega, that's certainly a great step on that warpath.
Omega, I am guessing will have to deal with Mox before he gets anywhere near the title.
Jericho and Cody having a feud could be fun.

I dig Page. Dude is great and put a hell of a showing. But Jericho was the right choice, by far, especially if they're going on TV soon.

Much better than Page. Y2J needs to get in a little better shape before the TNT debut so he doesn’t look so past his prime, though. Going to be a lot of people sampling that first episode and don’t want them to get the wrong impression.

I personally don't like the idea of Jericho as champion myself, especially at his age and looking like a dumpy clod, but again, AEW is looking at their television program coming up and looking at the possibility of getting the casual audience, Jericho is a known name, while Hangman Page isn't. Hopefully, by the time we get to early 2020, AEW will have built a few people so guys like Jericho and the Elite aren't necessary. However, in the short term, they have to rely on what has worked.

Honestly watching the post show I will say that I like the idea of Jericho being hated by everybody in AEW but nobody being able to do anything about it with how good he is.

Yeh the biggest issue I have is that an slightly old of shape looking man holding the title can make the rest of the roster look bad if their best guy look so out of shape. Page at least would look like someone on top of their game.
