9 for me. Pacing of the event was great, at no point did I feel i needed a real big break away from the action. I think every match delivered in some shape or form and we saw minor improvements production-wise in comparison to the previous ppv's.

Between an 8 and 9 for me, well paced and nothing dragged for me, plus the best parts of the show were REALLY good. Omega vs PAC was beautiful outside of a single notch, I want to rewatch it already.
If AEW is indeed doing fewer huge PPV cards than WWE or early 2010s TNA, then this approach where there’s a lot happening and a slew of different styles and gimmicks will make each show a major event, the classic “something for everyone” style of presenting pro wrestling. Still makes me curious how weekly TV will work, but if these shows are the destinations then sticking around for the journey will automatically feel more appealing.

6, only about half the card was any good and the main event was dogshit.

8 overall. For such a show of its length it really flew by. The Joshi match seemed a bit off and I think Spears should have bested Cody. I also will give credit where the Battle Royal was much better put together than when they did it for the men.

8/10, same I rated DON. I can't seperate them. Both great ppvs, but definitely know they can do even more.
Only booking decsions I didn't agree with were Cody and SCU winning. I feel Spears needed the win more. Perhaps they (Cody himself?) are building Cody up to be Jericho's first challenger. And I just feel that Jurassic Express are so hot at the moment that they should be capitalising on it.
They've set it all up brilliantly for the TNT show. Can't wait to see where they go from here

6/10
- Pre-show was mediocre, at best. - SCU/Jurassic match was fun, but unmemorable. - Pac/Omega was fine, but could have been better under other circumstances. - Cody's match was your average Jarrett era TNA main event : the owner giving himself the spotlight, interference aplenty, shenanigans, old wrestlers cameos, and silly entrances (also, I won't get behind Cody as long as he insists on bringing his poor scared dog out with him). - The Dark Order still doesn't work as a gimmick, and the match never really clicked for me. - The hardcore match was better than I expected, especially since it's not a wrestling style that I care for, and since I don't care for Janela. - The women's match was okay. - The ladder match totally lost me after the destroyer from the ladder : it should have been the finish, and not just yet another dangerous spot no-sold by the Bucks in a spotfest full of those. I think I'm reaching my limits in terms of Bucks' spotfests, and that will probably an issue in the future, since they seem intent on having one of those on every of their big shows. - I was flat out bored by the main event, and a big part of this is on Hangman Page, but also on having the obvious crowd favorite heel it up, yet have the blood spot, and so on. Booking was wonky, there.
The weakest AEW show so far, as far as i'm concerned, and cracks in the show's booking are starting to show.

7 Good show but nothing really hooked me going in to or during it.The announcing was way better.Alot of stuff just happened and I hope they change alot of things when they get on tv cause there’s alot of the same problems wwe currently has and once the honeymoon period is over things will be ugly.

Double or Nothing was the day wrestling changed, whatever happens from here. It's basically a 10 by default.
This one is a definite 8.
Not too interesting a show - this seemed like the establishment of them as a brand, knowing they can't have every single show completely crammed with debuts and hot angles - but above average to excellent almost without exception.

I put a 7. I can't give it that much more due to a bleh main event and some baffling booking. It's funny to hear the comparisons to the NXT UK show when these two shows are so light years different in terms of tone and what was being accomplished. The atmosphere and style were so different that it was barely the same genre.

I tried not considering much the Pre Show for the ranking. Even if it did my score probably wouldnt change much
I never see anyone ranking WWE PPVs using the pre show at least, why counts so much more for AEW?

10 for me. I'm a fanboy admittedly but for me even the worst match (Dark Order vs Best Friends) was above average and had multiple really good matches. Pharaoh's issue was addressed and apparently the morators going off was a mistake and overall was not received well by anyone in hindsight. Mistakes happen.
So many memorable moments throughout though. Never thought I'd mark out for Orange Cassidy doing an Undertaker blackout. PAC making Omega submit. Jurassic Express's entrance. First crowning of the AEW world champ. AA spinebuster.

Preshows are throwaway most of the time to warm up a crowd. I don't count them towards the rankings of any show, AEW, WWE, or otherwise, though if there's things on the preshow I like I'll make note of them.

Whether a preshow counts or not really depends entirely on my mood in the moment, honestly. If I feel like it's a good indicator of the show at large I'll probably count it, but if it's a case where it's good while the show isn't, I generally won't.
On the flipside of that, I'd generally consider SummerSlam this year a pretty good show, but the preshow was freaking dire. Didn't really factor it into my rating there.

Right, plus the preshow has had a bit more emphasis put on it by AEW since they don't have TV yet, so it's the only time we're getting to see some of these people yet, plus obviously the battle royals have both had big implications going onward.

What they need is to establish heels and faces with interesting storylines and give people more than 'Hey we do solid wrestling'. This has been the barrier for me. I’ve watched every show so far and they’ve all been varying levels of alright. I ranked this one a six because I liked the opening six man, the silly-ass hardcore match, and Cody/Spears. The rest didn’t do much for me. I think I would have liked to see some promo time mixed in. I get that the wrestling is good but I still need more context to who and what everyone is, and why they dislike each other. I haven’t seen anything Pac has done in the last two years, and he was the last minute replacement. Couldn’t he have gotten a microphone at some point? And there were two different instances of mystery run-ins, and when the attackers revealed themselves...I had no idea who they were. Maybe this is my fault for not following the wrestling scene closely enough, but like, I’m the casual type of fan they need to be worrying about bringing in. A few tweaks could make all this a lot more accessible for fans like me.

I'll give it an 8/10. No MOTY candidates, but a consistent, great card up and down. It was just FUN, too. This is exactly my take, a really fun show top to bottom. Sure, I disagree with some of the booking but it didn’t make the show any less enjoyable.

I still prefer they stick with adapting New Japan's way of doing alignment rather than having only straight heels and faces. It's a more organic way of doing things IMO and it makes it more distinct from any other major American promotion.

8 Itv feed was great the entire show.
Its been along time since ive watched wrestling where a match ended, they showed replays and then the next match started (pretty much), no back stage interviews or "skits" was alittle jarring at first, i guess im very used to WWE style production to much.
I was awke when it ended (5am) so well done in that.
My main gripe is that the music didnt really pop, and i couldnt tell the difference sometimes between Excalibur and Goldenboy, but im sure over time i will be able to tell them apart

Still a solid 6-7 for me.
Without proper stories, I can only enjoy the wrestling so much. The TV show to give everyone a story and some drama cannot come fast enough.
We'll see then if they can put on shows that will make them compelling outside of just being a few big names riding the current anti-Vince wave.
