I love trio tournies but hate trio belts. Dunno why. Trios are harder to keep around for such a long time to sustain a division. It’s one extra person who can go on the shelf for any amount of time, be it injury, illness, travel problems, personal issues, etc. Tournaments like King of Trios work because they only need to assemble their trios for a set amount of time, and they can disband once they’ve run their course afterwards. Plus, it’s such a big event that trios will form just to do the one show, often times representing other promotions (Team Steiner/Petey/Jordynne is a prefect example). Whereas a division requires more full time trio teams.

Matt Jackson already said that there won't be Trios belts. He said they don't want a lot of titles.

I think they've toyed with the idea of women's tag, but I feel like if they have the top title, tag belts, women's title, and probably some sort of TV title or equivalent, that may be plenty. If they do women's tag, great, but I'd be curious what teams there would be. We've had multi-women matches, but not a ton of established partnerships yet.

Both Matt Jackson and Tony Khan have said there will be Women's Tag Titles and that they will be important. Now, how they plan to do this with Brandi and Awesome Kong as the only real alliance in the women's division, I have no idea.

TV should be well under way by then, so you have plenty of time to establish some bonds.

Clearly it will be lead by the cooperating and friendly team of Sadie Gibbs and Bea Ripley, two professionals that always will work well together

It feels less like they are setting up a trios or 6-man title and more that they are laying out alliances for 6-man matches on the TV show. I think 6-man bouts are a great way to showcase talent when you only have 2 hours a week to do it.

I think they have the Omega/Bucks vs Jericho/Two mystery partners who are probably LAX set for the first TV episode, with Cody vs Guevara for the opening match. I would think it'd be the main event, but if they are crowning the first women's champion that night, then I figure that goes on last. Not overly clear what the order is outside of the Cody match, given that was presented as first from the get go.

Using one of the creepers isn't any dumber than using f***ing Marko Stunt in a team. He's like a little kid and significantly weakens any team. He's good for eating the pin and to even out Luchasaurus' crazy combination of ability and size, but in kayfabe he's a burden to any team he's in.

In a perfect world, they would iron out their differences or be civil, like Elgin and Cobb seemingly did, at least enough to function. (Though, it was probably just Cobb tolerating him in order to get NJPW work) More likely, we end up with a Bret/Shawn situation where they just end up loathing each other more with contact.

I feel like after the no selling during the CBR, the chances of that happening are slim to none and none sabotaged slim's "skinning the cat" spot.

Well, the EVP class (and Tony) have the long history of factions and units that New Japan has used, building those organically so that TV multimans can be used to showcase feuds while holding off the money match for later seems like a natural progression of an appreciation of tag team wrestling.

They seriously do not need any sort of women's tag titles. Do something different from WWE, don't just copy them. Nor do they need some wacky 6 man tag belts. What AEW desperately needs is an IC level title though. Otherwise they'll have a whole bunch of guys that are just drifting aimlessly in the midcard. It would also be an ideal title for someone like Page right now since he isn't remotely world title material at the moment.

Well, you can make sure you’re not copying WWE if you actually treat the belts with any level of importance.
