Cody wins he'd hold 3 world titles in 3 different promotions.
Anyone ever done that?

I love this stuff. A pre-show built around snazzy, well produced video packages makes for way better promotion than some braying jackass talking heads cracking jokes in the arena. If I was on the fence about buying the show this would be a strong way to pull me into caring about it, everything feels so much more intentional and made with care.

First time seeing this countdown stuff and gotta say AEW has learned lessons from many great programs how to actually do these!

First time seeing this countdown stuff and gotta say AEW has learned lessons from many great programs how to actually do these! AEW looked at what sells in media, where sports stuff can build interest, and they aped it. Brilliant move, that's how you actually be in touch with the landscape and tap into broader success. And hell, any time wrestling promotions have done stuff like this, it killed; even during TNA's darkest 2010 days, it had 'previously on' stuff that made it seem like a show real people were actually writing, which is the best and most impressive lie

I like the approach that AEW, and really any non-WWE promotion uses where everything that's happened on a wrestling show, regardless of which company, is canon.

I hope the inner circle stays together a while. I love Sammy's adoration of Jericho.

So, Bea Priestley takes on Dr. Baker in the Buy In match.
Ideally, I'd like Bea to get the win, but I doubt it.

Wait did JR just call someone the best 'pure athlete' in somewhere where it wasn't code for 'agile black guy'?

Kind of surprisingly this is only actually the third singles match between Jericho and Cody - only other times are Jericho beat him a couple of times in the summer of 2013.
