I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

He would probably be considered the worst WCW United States champion if David Flair hadn't of won the belt. Oh, not even close. We had 1994-era Jim Duggan, 1995-era One Man Gang and 2001-era Rick Steiner as contenders. Morrus was miles and miles ahead of any of those. You forgot barely mobile 1999 Roddy Piper. I know he was a jackass as a trainer, but let's not allow that to cloud how good a worker the guy was

He was the wcw version of Al Snow, or Bob Holly, midcarder to make the other guys look good

He was a horrible trainer later on, but he was a decent big man and could put others over.

At that time it was still pretty impressive even to bust out a moonsault, especially if you were a big guy like him. He had a low ceiling but I get why he was employed.

I gotta disagree; I thought he showed a lot of personality with his character in the bloated old WCW roster. He'd hit his finisher and then roll over so the jobber pinned him.

I also think some of the people who had tales to tell about him aren't much better as people, and no matter what did or didn't happen at developmental, the point is those people are hypocrites if they became real nasty themselves. That definitely isn't how that shit works. I'd think of him as the WCW equivalent of, I dunno, say Billy Gunn(maybe not quite as good as him, but best example I can think of) A guy who isn't exactly going to light the world on fire or be a main eventer, but a solid in ring guy who is a fills a decent mid card role. That's the beauty of those days, is that midcard guys would get pushed consistently and have angles that people still remember(for better or for worse) When WWE became the only game in town and their roster has become so bloated this past decade, it seems like everyone who isn't in the main event gets forgotten about at some point. Or they get hit with the dreaded "creative has nothing for you" DeMott is an underrated wrestler, but I think Gunn could wrestle rings around him. Although saying that it's probably because he had a shitload of charisma, much more than Demott. My God, it was a great moonsault, though. And seeing someone his size do it in the 90s was extraordinary.
