Which team should be the first AEW Tag Team Champion?

We don't know all of the teams who will be part of the tag tournament, but which team do you think should be the first AEW Tag Team Champions?

I want Boy and His Dinosaur but LAX would be a good second choice.

Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus are a genuine, fresh, new act that's got super over after very little national notoriety. It should be them, and if not them, it definitely shouldn't be LAX, however good they are.

A Boy and his Dinosaur (or the Jurassic Express) would be a great choice. They're also a perfect team to help launch a solid heel team like LAX into their title reign before it comes around to a Lucha Bros/Young Bucks type team.

Exactly what I thought. Double benefit in putting them over first. Also they count as a pure AEW creation so little bonus for that.

Face team HAS to be Boy and his Dinosaur/Jurassic Express, they're so white hot over and they know it.

Heel team should be LAX if they're going with a heel team, but with Jericho as world champion I think face tag champs have way more upside right now.

I voted Lucha/Jungle, but SCU would definitely be my second pick. Not sure if they'd pick a pairing or Freebird it, but either way, I certainly wouldn't mind them getting the nod, particularly if Daniels was part of the two if they weren't freebirding it.

Okay. I wasn't sure if Jurassic Express was the name of the trio when you include Marko Stunt or if it was the replacement for "A Boy and His Dinosaur."

I mean, I am not sure, but it seemed like commentary was pushing a hard reset on their name. I only heard them say Jurassic Express, and commentary also kept calling him “Jungle” Jack Perry instead of Jungle Boy.

It really is such a strong tag team division already. There's legit 4 or 5 teams who I wouldn't mind at all becoming the first champs, so I hope they don't mess it up by giving it to one of the very few teams there that I don't rate. 🤣

Jim Ross has referred to him almost exclusively as Jungle Jack or Jack Perry for the last two shows. He seems to have an aversion to the name Jungle Boy. The other commentators were still calling him Jungle Boy though. Seems to be a JR thing and not a name change there.

Also, I was given the impression that Jurassic Express is the name of the trio and A Boy and His Dinosaur is the name of the tag team.

This is the thing about AEW's tag division as opposed to their world title scene - they are overburdened with good choices rather than lacking.

Aside from the fact that it should be the Best Friends, naturally. Depending on where the belts should be slotted into the gears of the promotion, you have the Bucks or the Lucha Brothers currently engaged Santana and Ortiz in a feud (presumably the Bucks, but maybe the Lucha Brothers) so two of those teams are out unless they are arranged for the tournament finals, Best Friends and Dark Order seem to have unfinished business based on trying to steal little Greg, so they will probably not win the tournament. A Boy and His Dinosaur are a possible shout, but it depends on how much faith you have in them carrying the division. SCU are the proverbial good hands, but Daniels is head of Talent Relations are they have a good slot as the opening match crew.

Newly heel Angelico and Jack Evans could make a run for it, but I think it should be whichever team isn't feuding with EYFBO should get the belts between the Lucha Brothers and the Young Bucks.

but seriously, Best Friends run from the bottom seed to win the whole thing, probably beating the Spooky Perverts in the process.
