Regarding Austin, I think the miles and injuries finally just caught up with him. Once he had the neck surgery, he was on borrowed time and father time finally came to collect. Austin didn't really suddenly fall apart, as much as he spent most of his time post-Summerslam 1997 in a state that probably never have him cleared to compete in 2019. The neck surgery he got in November 1999 helped, but his bump card was still getting really full. The kick/punch style of WWF main events in 1998 and 1999 was pretty much designed around Austin's physical limitations, and you'll notice he never takes a Tombstone after Summerslam 1997 despite feuding with Taker and Kane for a good portion of his Attitude Era run. Yup and then he comes back in 2000 (and especially in the 2001 heel run) like a goddamned man possessed going 110%. Someone once described it as like an alcoholic with a new liver drinking himself to oblivion again. His new repaired neck meant he could, for a time, take bumps and risks, and move away from simple punch kick matches, but it caught up with him. Plus he was burned out by 02. Just strange how quickly he went from five star matches to 2002 stinkers with Jericho and Taker.

I'm glad they took a bit of time to put over the Val Venis v Rikishi feud in mid-2000. They f***ing beat the shit out of each other over the course of that thing, and it ends in a damn fine cage match at Fully Loaded.

Could an Amish gimmick work in the WWE? Roadkill never made it to the main roster sadly.

dI' argue that there were some actually decent moments in that short run that Roman had with the belt. Getting a fair amount of cheers against The Miz when he won, getting even more when WWE had him play the heel against Jason "Remember The Whole Lame Babyface Push Because Kurt Angle's Kayfabe Son?" Jordan (which also showed that Roman as a heel could work, even if all we got there was a tiny supermarket sample like the bits of bratwurst on a tiny pretzel stick, or the tiny slices of cheap pizza on a napkin, you know, the really cheap kind like Jack's or, even worse, Roma's that usually are on sale at 4/$10 [Roma's tend to be 5/$10 or sometimes even 6/$10, depending on if you're at Piggly Wiggly or a different supermarket], or like tiny cubes of cheese at a cheese shop that also have the pretzel sticks in them, which is at least better than getting just a f***ing toothpick because you can at least eat the pretzel and where the f*** was I again?) and the Christmas RAW where he got a hostile Chicago crowd to start chanting "ONE MORE TIME!" when he went nuts and beat down Samoa Joe with a chair. Obviously it was all lost in the inevitable build to one of the stupidest booking decisions I've ever seen but his run wasn't really that bad, though I don't know if.... Actually, there's a couple people on that list who shouldn't be there, and not just Roman. RVD? Really?

Or that he didn't have to be...

Why exactly did Ivory wave around a purple scarf during her entrance?

Why exactly did Ivory wave around a purple scarf during her entrance? Looking this up... Seems to indicate a possible sexual fetish for piercings, so a major missed opportunity there in not putting her with Prince Albert at any point.

Injuries and pain Alcoholism or verging on it Domestic issues Frustration that his body was going south and so we're his story lines

Summarize Jack Swagger's WWE career for me. I missed his entire run. They generally never seemed to know what to do with him. His gutwrench powerbomb always looked like death. That always should have been his primary finisher

Swagger was a promising rookie who got put on TV and super pushed before he was ready, had all his flaws exposed, and then was left to flounder, before randomly being handed the World title as a swerve and thus completely burying him. Later on, he got on as a tag guy, but yeah, yet another in the long list of wasted potentials in the 2005-2012 period. I'm glad they took a bit of time to put over the Val Venis v Rikishi feud in mid-2000. They f***ing beat the shit out of each other over the course of that thing, and it ends in a damn fine cage match at Fully Loaded. That is a great match. Also Rikishi's leg drop off the stage on Smackdown was a big moment.

Swagger is someone who got more over than you might expect given the circumstances. More than once. Not quite a Barrett level waste but still bad.

Any of these topics could've gotten their own thread here. Worse ones have hit a dozen pages in the past. Y'all clearly haven't been in this madhouse for long.

I just didn't see him as any higher than a Billy Gunn kind of level. Like Billy Gunn never won a world title in the attitude era, and that was the right call. I feel there are levels.

I watched a YouTube video of Becky stunning Austin on his TV show the other day.
Not getting into anything political but by God the comments were nearly all "WRESTLING IS DEAD" "FEMINISM KILLED WWE" "STUPID SJWS RUINING WRESTLING FORCING STONE COLD TO GET BEAT UP BY A GINGER MIDGET"
IT DIDNT EVEN HAPPEN ON WWE TV YOU NUTTERS
