Why were WWE's ropes always extra padded at the turnbuckle end back in the day? Unlike say WCW or current-WWE, where the ropes are all basically the same width. What era? I noticed it around 2005. I think might have usually only been one rope, but don't remember.

Remember Bam Neely?
I refuse to apologize for making you remember he existed.

I made a thread for this video earlier today, but no one replied, so I'm thankful for this thread. I clicked thinking it was a new Table for 3 and left in disgust that it wasn't! (At WWE not you)

As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm currently reading Daniel Bryan's autobiography and just read past where Daniel Bryan discussed the Benoit murders and CTE and how he went on to continue not taking care of himself after getting further concussions and have concluded Daniel is both intelligent and one of the dumbest people I've ever read an autobiography of. Speaking of books I'm reading 'behind the shattered glass' by Steve Austin ex wife Jeannie Clark, for a different look at Stone Cold. How is it?

I noticed it around 2005. I think might have usually only been one rope, but don't remember. I could be wrong, but it looks like they just used up the rest of the tape at the end. I'm not sure if they still tape the ropes or if they have separate ones for red/blue/white/purple/yellow these days.

I always thought Taka could have actually gotten over like WWE ostensibly wanted him to if they’d had him get a few wins over mid card guys and not ultimately just treated him as a joke with an “lol he’s Asian” gimmick. Basically book him like ECW did Tajiri. Considering how WWF/E booked Tajiri during his own time there, I don't think that was ever going to happen to any wrestler worth their salt. I say that because, for his WWE run, Kenzo Suzuki wasn't worth his salt.

Sheamus and Del Rio have kayfabe resumes which rival Austin and Rock That's what happens when you have 2 world titles. You start having to put the belt on people that should never have been close to a world title and getting guys like HHH, Orton and Cena with obscene amounts of title reigns that mean nothing. Anybody here really want to argue that Orton's 13 title reigns mean more than Austin's 6?

After Vince steps down, there should be a storyline where HHH and Stephanie use Hornswoggle to garner majority control of the WWE.

Reading Daniel's book made me like him a LOT less. Not because of thinking he is a bad person, but kinda concerned about his own sense of his own wellbeing, and that of his opponents. Like, by all means brain yourself on a concrete block in your own home, but you're supposed to catch me off a moonsault in 30 seconds... Yeah, I can definitely see why. The bit where he refused to procreate because he didn't want to bring further damaged kids into the world made me cringe. Hope Birdie never gets ahold of the book and reads it without talking to him first. Can I get more on this, plz?

Hope Birdie never gets ahold of the book and reads it without talking to him first. Can I get more on this, plz? I just reread that part, I was partially wrong about what he said but yeah, here's what he said word for word in the book: "It is my belief that due to modern medicine, humans have stopped evolving in a way that produces healthier adults. I say this because many children who two hundred years ago would have died are now living to successfully reproduce. They thus pass on their genetic deficiencies to their children, who then pass them on to their children, and so on and so forth. I am one of those children: sick my entire childhood and even still often sick as an adult. Without modern medicine, I would have surely passed before I could procreate. Who knows, I still might. Regardless, I affectionately refer to myself as a defect. Bri is also a defect. I will let her explain her own defectiveness in her own book, should she choose to write one. Before we started dating, I pointed this out to her, and also told her it would be genetically irresponsible of us to have children as it would weaken the evolution of humans going forward. What we should be doing as a species is breeding intelligent superathlettes, like having John Cena make babies with Jackie Joyner-Kersee. It became our little joke, both of us being defects. And we will, at some point, try our best with the de-evolution of our species." The last line's meaning skipped my notice because I was distracted with what he'd said before that, but yeah.

I've been there. You come up with a topic you think will get some good conversation going and get maybe one response. Thankfully that's less than half my threads I think.
For Jack Swagger he had a lot going for him. He was never going to be the man but there were times where he could have risen quite high if they had struck while the iron was hot. Then again there is a long long list of people that applies to just from the past five years or so.

Muffy The personal trainer, underrated or not?
Also is it time for another wrestling EMT? (I know I'm stretching the wrestling term with BB)

Daniel Bryan subscribes to eugenics. What a delightfully horrible thing to read today.
