It’s pretty clear that it’s the end of the road for him, but do you see him doing one last wwe run? Or will he end it at AEW. WWE is what he is known for, but at the same time AEW is a company he pretty much helped start up. Either way he has to retire as a face, considering he is one of the most beloved stars in pro wrestling

AEW is his last full time run but I can’t see him not going back to WWE for one offs. He will get the proper legend treatment when he comes back since it will have been a few years since he came back

The only one who didn’t come back was Macho and he died. Relationship seemed to be getting better thanks to the video games So yeah, petty will reign for a while but not forever

Plus I could be mistaken but I remember Triple H and Jericho never got along so I dont see him bothering

TNA wasn’t a big competitor but they were their closest since WCW and took massive shots at them. They’ve hired back people that sued them and threw their name in the mud for years. Jericho is smart, he’s just a wrestler. He was on the ground floor for the AEW idea but he’s not putting his name in any credit in it which is why he isn’t an executive Jericho and HHH have gotten along better over the years. When they talked on his podcast a few years back they talked about the early years and how Jericho had heat coming from WCW. They both chalked it up as just being competitive in that time and hold no ill will towards each other because of the respect they have for their ability.

It depends on what you mean by "retire." I think this run in AEW will be his final run as a full-time active in-ring competitor. But, I truly believe that Jericho will be back with WWE at some point for a Hall of Fame induction. If he is still in shape and able, I could see him doing one final match in WWE some day.

Also, the man whose idea the NWO was, Eric Bischoff, just signed on as an executive with WWE.

Depends how successful AEW is. He signed a 3 year deal and you'd have to imaging he might retire after that when he's in his 50s. If AEW does become huge and overtake WWE in ratings or something crazy like that he'd probably try milking it a bit more and stick around but I can't see him going back to WWE immediately. If AEW fails or folds or just becomes a "small time" indie like TNA then I doubt he'd go back to WWE either since they'd probably just want to do humiliating shit to him. Pretty sure he said he's never wanted a big grandiose farewell so I'm not sure he'd even care about not going in the WWE HOF.

It depends on how much of a say Triple H has or if he can let go of a grudge like Vince can.

One day, he will be the Steamboat some other poor f*** is trying to get over.
I can't imagine him not showing up in WWE at some point.
However I think you saying that it's near the end of the line for him are way off. People with less of an ambitious streak than Jericho have WAY outstayed their welcome while in way worse shape than he is in. He is going to be wrestling, even irregularly, until he's dead, and a company like AEW that doesn't kill you with the schedule will have extended his career by years.

He will be wrestling in his late 50s.
The man has never had a serious injury and can still have the best match on the card.

legends contract and HOF induction I'm sure he'll accept a HOF induction down the line, but I don't see him ever signing a legends contract.

Vince has a well documented control freak obsession with getting people who left him to come back and giving them money just to 'own' them again, because in the end, it all comes back to him, he'd take Jericho back in time. Triple H is a tougher read, it depends on his willingness to bury the hatchet. It's said the two aren't fond of each other, which would be another factor in there.

I could see him accepting a HoF induction. MAYBE a Legends Deal, but ONLY if it doesn't involve him relinquishing the rights to the "Chris Jericho" name.

WWE, just too much precedent of others returning for me to think otherwise.

I see Jericho in a Kurt Angle kind of role: His last big full-time (or nearly full-time) run will be with AEW to try and help them grow, but he'll wind up doing a couple of shots with WWE (maybe even a tag match in NJPW and CMLL as part of a farewell tour, as legends often do) before finally retiring.

Jericho seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't know for sure what he'd like to do best until not long before the 3 year contract is up. I think if WWE offered him a headlining class of Hall of Fame, that'd be mighty enticing for him, but we'll see how it goes.

WWE. Didn't HHH and Jericho just take a photo together a little ways back? That bridge isn't even close to being burnt.
