WWE. Didn't HHH and Jericho just take a photo together a little ways back? That bridge isn't even close to being burnt. Yes, they were both at Ric Flair's 70th. I don't think H cares. His mate Billy Gunn is working for AEW and was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

I don't think we'll have any indication for at least a couple of years. If AEW continue an upward trajectory then there might not be any reason for him to return to the WWE and AEW might become home with him making the occasional appearance once his full time run is over, or even working behind the scenes which with his creativity is something he's certainly capable of. Until we see where AEW settles in the grand scheme of things there's quite a few career paths out there that are impossible to predict right now, and that's pretty exciting to me.
One thing worth noting about all of the people that have returned to the bosom of the WWE is that when they did the WWE were the only viable game in town for most of them. You have to imagine that more than a few came back with their tail between their legs, suitably humbled at the feet of the McMahon empire. If (for example) WCW had managed to stay on par with WWE over the past twenty years or so, would that have been the case?

The actual development of this situation does actually open up a lot of questions; Jericho doing New Japan, hooking up with The Bucks, working against Kenny and beyond, even just being on BTE, right up through to joining AEW and what he's doing now, is all very much a man who was once on the cutting edge finding a chance to be on the cutting edge again. He wants to prove he's still cool and in touch and got it, and while that's all greatly exaggerated for his character I think there's a kernel of truth to it. Right now in terms of popularity and appeal, the hotter hand to play is these indie guys coming in from underneath and he's managed to re-establish himself in the main event through it, where in WWE has a midcard guy occasionally bumping up to feud with a top guy but just as likely putting someone like Fandango over to absolutely no purpose. AEW's growth is going to be a big thing to see, but if somehow this bolsters a lot of WWE growth and WWE can in some way at all become 'cool' again, that may be a wrench in the perception of what Jericho does. He's a smart man even if he's kind of a doofus; he'll go where the hype is.

One would think the answer is WWE. He is one of the very few guys out there who just does what he wants wherever he wants to do it. Vince isn’t keeping him out of the HOF, and he’ll at least go back for that.

I could see McMahon putting him in the HOF in 2020, not inviting him and have someone else accept it for him.

I could see McMahon putting him in the HOF in 2020, not inviting him and have someone else accept it for him. WWE would humiliate themselves if they did that. The second word got out he wasn't invited, and I mean, he'd tell people, then it'd make the company look terrified.

I think a big factor will be how everything plays out in the coming years for AEW and WWE, and between them. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires in AEW, but my gut tells me he's getting at least a retirement match in the WWE barring anything happening that would prevent it.

He'll probably retire at DDP's house doing detox.

He’ll be back at some point. WWE will give him a few shots to pop their ratings, put whoever they’re pushing over and then they’ll put him in the HOF.
