Oakland gets a score, let the celebration begin Gruden the mad genius. Getting rid of AB and being made a laughing stock might be the best thing that ever happened to them The jury is out on that tho, Giants had a great drive yesterday and then fell flat on their ass

I really dislike New England's policy of never benching the stars during blow-outs simply because they don't like to admit that they were being bad sports running up the scores during the aftermath of Spygate. I don't think it is worth risking your starters, especially since no one buys the notion that you "just run the gameplan regardless". This is just factually inaccurate and I feel like I've debunked it before, although I can't find the exact post from my archives. They quote-unquote "ran up the score" two times during the 2007 season: - Week 6 at Dallas. Leading 41-27, fullback Kyle Eckel scores a one-yard touchdown on 4th and goal with 23 seconds remaining. - Week 8 vs. Washington. Tom Brady throws a touchdown pass to Wes Welker with 9:06 remaining in the game as the Patriots led 38-0. Every other score was a running touchdown that the other team simply couldn't stop or a score that was not late enough in the game to be considered "running it up." For example, in week 13 Tom Brady found Wes Welker in the end zone with 3:49 remaining in the third quarter and the Patriots leading 24-13. That's not running it up. In week 8 against Washington, Matt Cassel scampered in from 15 yards out with just under six minutes remaining to extend the Patriots' lead over Washington to 52-0. Again, that's not running it up because it's a backup quarterback running the ball. The Patriots seemed like they were "running it up" because they got out to big first-half leads and the opposing defenses couldn't stop the ground game in the third or fourth quarters.

The late game crew they always make for Week 1 on MNF is always fascinating. It's so... random. Like, they'll throw anything against the wall.

Not every game is a blowout. That is a fact. The reality is, however, that damned near every Patriots game I watch has Brady taking garbage time snaps. The fact that they never paid the price for doing that does not negate the stupidity of doing it. Considering it is pretty much the only stupid thing that they do, it doesn’t pass the smell test.

McManus thinks he can get a 64 yarder? Who does he think he is, Jason Elam?

They're having to stretcher out 21 - Gareon Conley of the Raiders after his own guy came down driving Conley's head down like a turtle into his shell.
Just gave a thumbs up so there is some feeling.
