I have been watching this series a lot recently, think Adrian Monk could be among my favourite TV characters of all time and Tony Shalhoub is great in the role.
I thought the show did a good job of balancing humour with the more tragic aspects of his life.
What's everybody else's opinions on this show?

One of my favorites. And a very satisfying ending.

One of my favorites. And a very satisfying ending. IMO One of the rare times a TV series ended well (That HAS an ending), Not just the finale but the whole season was good

Dude I’m watching Monk right now.
Fell back in love with it when they started playing reruns on Hallmark channel, and had to look up hero’s and Icons, the antenna substation for MyTv, whenever they take it off because Hallmark channel has the most inconsistent scheduling I’ve ever seen
Has a much more timeless feel and rewatchability over Psych and I loved that show. Still waiting for USA to bring a reunion show for this if they’d do one for Psych so soon after it ended. Especially since the finale of Psych ended with them in San Francisco and mentioning the resident advisor they already use. Though, you’d have to wonder what happened to Stottlemeyer

Is a great show, not watched it in a long while but it's always been good to just kind of put on for noise.
Though I do really wish the final season had had more of an actual storyline. It's sort of frustrating how they just kept the same formula right up until the finish line then slammed on the gas for the finale.

I used to get so much pushback on this, so I have to ask: Sharona or Natalie?
I liked Natalie a lot more. I feel like they had Sharona skeptical to the point of being kind of an idiot a lot of times.
"Well, Monk is always right, so clearly, he's wrong this time. Oh nooo, he was right again."

Yeah, like, it's not like I disliked Sharona, I just felt like Natalie's dynamic was better for the show. I am glad, in any case, that they didn't just give him an assistant that was the same. Going a different direction with the way the played off of each other was a good move.

Pretty much, though it does make it a little weird looking at Natalie's first few episodes when they clearly just scribbled Sharona's name out on the scripts.

There was a bit of a storyline going on before the finale. {Spoiler}They showed that Monk was getting back to how he was before Trudy's death. Trudy's death sent his OCD spiraling out of control. In the final season before the finale, we saw Monk walk on the beach with no problem, go camping, keep his cool long enough in the window washer trolley to knock out the villain, take a cab by himself, and at his birthday party he gave Natalie cake with his own fork and didn't clean it. There was the storyline of Monk getting back to his old self throughout the last season.

I can’t believe we almost had Michael Richards as monk.
The guy who played Kramer!
Though to be fair, I didn’t expect much from the Italian cab driver from Wings. I was shocked just to hear him speak an American accent.
Tony Thankfully Never had the Meltdown Richards did.

Being closer to their age, I also preferred Natalie because I had a small crush on Julie and you could tell she was growing up to be very a attractive adult.
I like Sharon’s but Benji was pretty unmemorable.
