They are too articulate now. My old WWF figures were better and their legs and elbows didn't even bend, except for my Macho King figure.

When I was in Japan I saw several S.H. Figurarts going for roughly $50-$60. I just can't justify that price in my head. Although the NECA TMNT figures in the vhs slipbox thing they sold at comic-con? That shit is bad ass.

Phantom Menace merch was insanely overproduced, ended up shelfwarming, burning Hasbro, retailers and collectors hoping to sit on them and make huge profits a few years down the line.

Today's figures may look great displayed in a shelf, but they're no fun to play with. At least the trend of leaving them in the packaging forever has finally died down.

Mattel are producing Hasbro style retro figures, Hasbro themselves make 5 point of articulation figures for lines like marvel and Star wars so the option is there.

If you think those prices are steep. You might want to take a look at the Transformers Masterpieces and the third party lines. I so want Unicron, but 600 bucks? MP 44? 450 bucks......

The price is definitely rough. I'm more upset by the size. I wish the toys were smaller so I can use them against my old Hasbros and Galoobs.
Back in my day...you could have WWF vs. WCW vs. GI Joe vs. VR Troopers vs. DC vs. Marvel vs. Last Action Hero and it was awesome!
