Read several books since the lockdown, but I am a sponge when it comes to books. I read through them too fast honestly.
I am Pilgrim - a interesting political thriller. Takes a while to get going and can seem to veer off track for a while, but it all comes together in the end pretty well.
Ready Player One - a fun book and different enough from the movie that I can judge it on its own merits.
The Shining and Doctor Sleep. Both fantastic stories. Never been a Stephen King reader, but I am thinking of changing that. The Shining especially was thrilling.
I've found several books by an author named Shari Lapena. She writes really fun mystery novels. I've read 3 of her books and want to get her most recent.

Golden Turkey Awards-Finally got a cheap copy of this infamous movie book. Some of the catagories are odd, like the bee movie one.
Hollywood Hall of Shame Biggest Flops in movie history-By the same authors of the above. Was surprised I saw info in this about Heaven's Gate that I had never read anywhere else. Hoping that means the Medveds just did really good research and not that they just made some shit up.
Crazy like a Fox-The Brian Pillman Bio. Has been my I wanna read for like 20 minutes tops at a time book. Really well written and researched. Lots of stuff I had never read or heard about before. Worth the price if you enjoy wrestler bios.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep-I read this novel at least once a year. And own 5 copies of it now. THe one I read this time is titled Blade Runner. Is one of those newer slightly taller paperbacks. Came out when Blade Runner 2049 hit theaters. It sat in the local Dollar General's spinner rack for a few years. When they dropped it to a buck I bought it. That way next time I meet someone that hasn't read this book but seen the film I can give them a copy.
And piles and piles of comics. Trades, hardcovers,OGNs and digital stuff. Been on a 70s Skywald kick. Hell Rider,SCream,Saga of the Victims and Crime Machine are all worth grabbing and reading. Since they are Public Domain it is easy to find a POD group that has them for cheapish.

I read the Boom Comics TPB of Do Androids Dream just last month. I'd recommend it if you're that big a fan of it. I also took advantage of the shut down to blast through my reading list. Since the pandemic started, I've read The World According to Fannie Davis, Beyond This Horizon, The Art of Solitude, TPB of Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, Granada's Greatest Detective, re-read 1984, and am almost done with Love Ain't Nothing But Sex Misspelled.

I read that Boom adaptation and it was really good. Now you got me wanting to re-read 1984 for the 100th time. But I got a huge stack of stuff I ordered last month and havent started reading. Plus that MS wrestling history book one of the Culkins wrote that should be here by the weekend.

I just got the 1400 page collection of Orwell's essays, I figure I'll read them a few at a time, and maybe be done with the book by December.

Because my library is closed at the moment, I recently started reading a book that I checked out about a couple of months ago. It's called Winter's Bone. From what I understand, there was a movie adaptation that came out in 2010 that had Jennifer Lawrence in it, which I also checked out. But I think it would be better if I read the whole book first before watching the movie.

Probably the only Jennifer Lawrence movie I've ever liked.

The Lost City of the Monkey God - A true adventore book about the search for an ancient city in Honduras. It’s really good. I’ve you’ve read the Lost City of .c and liked it, you’ll like this.
Titan - A biography of John D. Rockefeller. Ron Chernow writes excellent biographies of old, dead white guys. I’m about a third of the way in and, so far, so good.
A Storm of Swords - I reread ASoI&F every other year or so. What can you say? It’s a classic. Just a series of indelible moments. Frankly, I think GRRM might’ve shot his wad with this one.

I'm re-reading the first four books in The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice: Interview With The Vampire. The Vampire Lestat. The Queen Of The Damned. The Tale Of The Body Thief. Anne really went off the rails with her writing in later books in the series, but the first three books in the series are excellent and the fourth is pretty good. Highly recommended if you enjoyed the film adaptation of "Interview With The Vampire" or thought the adaptation of "Queen Of The Damned" was lacking. Lestat is such a fun character.

Absolution by Patrick Flannery. Kind of an intense book that confused me in places, I'll have to set it aside to reread at some point to clarify for myself, but it's been pretty good, hadn't wanted to put it down.

The Box: Uncanny Stories. A collection of short stories written by Richard Matheson. Published to coincide with the release of the film The Box back in 2008, which was based on Matheson's "Button, Button".

Normal People - Sally Rooney
Calypso - David Sedaris
The Killer Across The Table - John Douglas/Mark Olshaker
Normal People captured me the most. I’d vaguely heard of her books before but Rooney is an amazing, soulful writer.

I didn't realize it before but he wrote a lot of books and short-stories that were turned into TV and movie adaptations that I was familiar with. I really need to check out his work.

I'm reading a horror book called Brother. Not bad. A horror story about a giant orange goblin, I see.

Finished “Wanna Bet?” by Artie Lange earlier today. Good if not on the same level as “Crash And Burn” or “Too Fat To Fish”.
Also about 100 pages into “Dark Days” by Randy Blythe. Very entertaining even if I kind of already know the story.
Erik Larson’s “The Splendid And The Vile”, and Albert Mudrian’s “Choosing Death” on tap next. Lot of free time these days.

After that maybe you'd like some light reading, like this leaflet on famous Jewish sports stars?

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - My daughter was reading it for a class and she asked me a question about it that I couldn't answer. I picked up the book and read until I found what she needed....and then I just read through to the end for fun.
The question was...Why does Ford Prefect not know what his real name is and why did his father name him that?
