Oh man, what a career... RIP. The newer/horror work, but somehow I will always remember him / think of himself 1st as a goon on the old Adam West BATMAN show.

A huge icon in cult horror films. I always remember him as the Crystal Star Thrower in Galaxy of Terror, such an odd profession to have in a sci-fi flick.
RIP

Another one we met at conventions (same one where we met Mike Quinn, who turned out to be a disappointment for reasons we can't discuss. Also met Tony Moran and made him cry with the news that a mutual friend and big Halloween fan passed away that year)
Heard he was in and out of hospitals lately too.

Had heard his health was bad. Which is why he is barely in 3 from Hell.

"What's the matter, kid? Don't ya like clowns? Don't we make ya laugh? Aren't we f***in' funny?!"
He was a great goon through his whole career, but Spaulding cements him in the horror history books. RIP.

Sid was such a presence on the horror con scene, and perhaps the best person you could ever meet and talk to. He genuinely enjoyed talking to people, entertaining them, and it was easy to see why he was the center of attention. I've never got to properly meet him, but I've been in a few rooms that he was in, and you could tell why people gravitated to him. Waking up this morning, and seeing my timeline have story after story, remembrance after remembrance of him hanging out, joking around, giving advice, just being Sid...it makes my heart break that he's gone, but reminds me of the impact that he had on people. It's not going to be the same for everyone without him there, but I'm comforted in the knowledge that Sid knew how beloved he was by our community.

I hate that this happened because from what I understood from twitter, he seemed to be doing fine after being hospitalized. But you truly never know in life and I regret never having met him at a convention. Immediately, after I heard this news....I knew Monster Crap was going to have to do something special and the site will. We're going to have a special memorial December induction poll for the man as he will finally get one of his films inducted. monster-crap.blogspot.com/2019/09/rip-sid-haig.html

It's very sad to hear. Haig was a horror icon. He hasn't had many leading roles to his name (which is a crying shame) but he is one of the most recognizable "that guy you've seen in a hundred things and always love, but can never remember his name or what you recognize him from"'s in the industry. So many low-budget horror movies owe what little credibility they might have had to Haig's presence. And say what you will about Rob Zombie as a filmmaker, but at least he finally gave Haig the opportunity he deserved to really showcase the full extent of his talent and charisma and expose him to a slightly more mainstream audience.

Had heard his health was bad. Which is why he is barely in 3 from Hell. Yeah, he looked sick in the commercials I've seen for 3 From Hell. Sort of like George Carlin in his last stand up special....you knew it wasn't going to be long after that. RIP Sid Haig...one of the last of a dying breed.
