The draft lottery is won by.....a team in the playoffs. What a shitshow. The 3 worst teams in the league and none of them are in the top 2. Ok.
I've never been so happy to be a Blues fan. Won the Cup and these bottom teams got hosed by this. I never thought I'd feel bad for the Red Wings. What the hell?

Detroit had the worst record in the salary cap era and are picking 4th. This is also the 4th year in a row they've fallen in the lottery. They're the anti-Emdonton/NJ. This is their second time picking in the top 5 in the last 34 years.

Not that it matters now as they're re-drawing for the 8 teams that lose the play-in.

Don't forget he'd be weeping all those salty reptilian tears down his cheeks. Seriously, if the Rangers or Penguins end up with Lafreniere, I will shit an entire house. End of the day, this was a ridiculously dumb way to do the lottery. Just take the teams that lose the play-in round and do a second lotto for the mid-first round picks, or else don't have the freaking play-in round. I'm not even that bummed for the Devils, I'm happy with them picking at #7 with such a stacked top 10 in this draft, but now the first draft picks they got from Arizona and Vancouver are totally up in the air, which sucks.

I mean, that's part of why I think the draft lottery idea needs to die and why the NHL needs to adopt the NFL draft style. Tanking may not seem ideal but otherwise you get dumb shit like having playoff teams getting the top pick which is nothing short of f***ing stupid.

If they really had to include the play-in losers, then why not just wait until after they play-in round? Just comes off as so amateurish to have this process and the "winner" is To Be Determined.

Yeah... I'm a diehard Ranger fan, but its been "1994 week" for the last 26 years. Well that's what happens when they've only one 1 Cup in a span of 80 years. Also I think they don't have the rights to the recent playoff runs or the outdoor games, which would totally classify as classics.

Yeah I lost a couple of years off my life during those recent Caps series

Also signed a new CBA that goes to 2026. The current one was set to end after next season. So no potential lockout for a while. Which is big for the NHL as they have had a stay growth for a while and can keep that going. Keep that going and with MLB CBA ending after next season. The way the return to play went. I don't have high hopes of that getting done without a lockout.

Plans are in place for the ECHL to head to Trois-Rivières in 2021.

Surprised there are no compliance buyouts included either, unless it's something that will be addressed later on.
