Awful to read. Honestly I would personally have preferred a Lois show rather than Superman as you just know it'll be him saving her every week when Lois is just as capable and strong without him. Hopefully the series will focus on her and her capabilities.

Hopefully the series will focus on her and her capabilities. Hopefully they learn from Iris's treatment on Flash and remedy that. Iris this season finally started to become a fully developed character, though I wonder how they'd differentiate between her and Lois now.

The 'damsel in distress' thing has never really been a trope applied to Lois in virtually any of the television adaptations she's appeared in. She's always been capable, independent, and headstrong. What exactly is wrong with being saved by the man you love every week anyway? Lois is only human at the end of the day and one of the many appeals of her character is she will get in way over her head with her nose for news and require saving. This is one of the greatest comic book partnerships in the history of the medium, noone tunes in to see them handle things on their own.

And Lois hasn't been a damsel in distress in the comics since at least the 1980's. She is a tough, smart, capable, independent, successful woman. She actually gets annoyed when Superman unnecessarily goes out of his way to be protective of her. I don't see why anyone would think she's just going to be a damsel in distress. Her character hasn't been like that since like the 1960's or early 1970's.

Exactly, even the current comics from Bendis and Rucka made her more independent of Clark and her son despite being a family, doing her own thing and having space to herself, getting her involved more with secret organizations like Checkmate. Hopefully this show mixes those developments with what Tomasi and Jurgens achieved during Rebirth where she's also a very considerate and supportful mother. I have never understood the criticisms levelled at the Lois and Clark relationship, it's like none of them read the comics at all. I think they just want Lois out of the way so Clark can bang Wonder Woman the rest of his life (btw, I love that Rebirth finally threw that nonsense under the bus and distanced those two from each other once and for all)

It's like when the Aquaman movie came out. In most people's minds, Aquaman was that doofus from Super Friends and they thought he was revamped or something. I've known Aquaman was awesome since Peter David wrote the comics in the 90's.

Anyone seen the pics of the new costume. No ugly cape buckles but they chickened out on the trunks.

That's amazing. It looks like Dan Jurgens drawn Clark and Lois brought to life.

Can ya tell they wanted this to look and feel like Man of Steel? because they sure as hell spent money to make sure it looks nothing like any of the other CW shows.

Well damn. We can't say that they didn't put effort into the visuals.

Trailer filmed incredibly well. Looks like a movie in many places. It seems like it's got that WB/DC darkness to it, but comes across better than the actual movies. That said........... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}his f***ing kids don't know he's Superman??! Is this a "got yer faces in them iPhones too much" message?

So how much of the cancelled shows budgets went into this? Idk if SuperGirl has started filming their season yet but notice no Black Lightning pics or footage and their show DEBUTS FEB 8TH! I have not even seen a trailer or anything. And apparently HBO MAX from what I have seen people saying chipped in on the budget for SuperMan and Lois and that the people doing the VFX are not the usual that handle the other CW superhero shows but instead are the same people doing the VFX for the Disney + Marvel shows. Which makes me even more worried for StarGirl because it really feels like they are banking everything on this SuperMan show and everything else is just gonna have to deal with getting the scraps.

With Stargirl, I’m curious on how much Amazon are bankrolling it especially since they have the international rights.
Like, it could be something like with Star Trek Discovery and Picard where both shows are essentially paid by the money provided by Netflix and Amazon respectively and all CBS have to do is make it.

CW's promotion has been dreadful for this upcoming season of Arrowverse shows. Like it feels like they're doing the bare minimum for Batwoman and Flash, and even less than that for everything else.
