Ok, that was actually pretty decent. Looking forward to seeing where the rest of the season goes. Hoechlin continues to be a great Clark and I really like Tulloch as Lois. Not really too sold on the kids yet. Also looks like the rumors about {Spoiler}Wolé Parks playing a Luthor from another Earth were true. Whether it's Lex himself or one of his descendants, it seems like his Earth was destroyed, likely during Crisis.

Yep. The kids are gonna make or break this for me. I reeeeaaaalllly don't give a shit about them. Jonathan by himself, maybe. I don't know. That dynamic is gonna have to grow on me. Maybe after we just have had both Thomas Welling and Brandon Routh reprise their roles along with the Justice League coming out again, it's gonna be hard to settle in to this show.
With all that said, it's not bad. And it's shot very well.

Don't have CW but the clip I saw with the Fleischer suit and dialogue from For All Seasons (one of my favorite stories) guaranteed I'll search it out.

I'm taking a shine to Jordan. Why he isn't Jon baffles me, he has the look for him, and he's very interesting {Spoiler}I loved that he played the Injustice game as Raiden

I do love him though, reminds me a lot of myself at his age, very relatable.

I like that both kids are named after Kal-El's fathers: Jonathan after Pa Kent and Jordan after Jor-El. {Spoiler}The Lex Luthor in this show is really interesting to me. He isn't your typical evil Lex Luthor but comes from an Earth where seemingly Kal-El wasn't a very nice person. Also seems this Lex was a military man and not a billionaire megalomaniac. So he thinks he's genuinely doing the right thing here and is probably a good man at his core, but his paranoia over this Superman becoming like his Earth's Kal-El is going to drive him to do bad things.

Thoughts on Episode Two {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Who ate all the pies Jor-El?
Cushing with the air guitar on the whisky...damn they're making it hard to not like the guy sometimes
Lois taking charge of the family and nullifying an argument before it can escalates was the perfect tonic to predictable CW antics. Keep that sort of thing with the teens and not the family. Well done.
Sam keeping all the kryptonite stashed for Clark's 'protection'...nah, totally a precaution in case he goes rogue. Clark should have just said that to him, but, y'know, boundaries with the relatives.
And god damn the ending...Injustice? Crime Syndicate? Knightmare? A little of all three?

I finally got around to watching episode three
Definitely feeling the Smallville vibes here with the freak of the week and teen drama domineering the story, I thought Clark would have shown Jordan a football helmet and told the same story, only it'd be his own football try-outs and and not baseball. Clark's timid approach to the role of deputy coach is adorable.
I was also surprised Jordan plugged Frozen when he called the Fortress 'Elsa's Ice Palace'

I'm liking the twins a lot more than I thought I would. Pretty well written show all things considered.

Ok, finally managed to find time to watch episode 4
Really loved how Lois handled Clark letting her down at the meeting/vote, she was understanding, but still sad, I liked the drink she shared with Lana later. The two have such a mixed chemistry in the comics and its' nice to see them bonding over what they see in the men in their lives. Liked that Lois also admires traits of Lana's husband, I just wish he'd have stepped up to Edge a little for making Lana feel uncomfortable.
Clark making it up to Lois with the dinner was very sweet..a bit schmaltzy and it reminded me of too much of typical teen/family drama conventions, but it's with two of my favourite people so I'll let it pass.
Wasn't interested in the teen freak of the week elements at all. Really wish they wouldn't keep going to that well, it feels like we as an audience should have outgrown this, and I say that as someone who eats, sleeps and breathes Power Rangers every day.
I think we should have waited until there were more interactions with Captain Luthor before Sam decided to set up a contingency protocol for Clark, especially since Luthor's in the next episode

Emmanuelle Chriqui should have been Lois.

I like the growing friendship between Lois and Lana and I'm glad they're not going into "catty rivalry for Clark's affection" territory as CW dramas are wont to do. Hope it stays that way, especially since Lana's marriage is on the rocks.

{Spoiler}If there was any lingering doubts, today's episode confirmed that Superman and Lois is indeed still based in the Arrowverse Earth Prime instead of being another Earth that just happened to use Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as its main actors. Otherwise, I think Lois would've recognized Another Earth Luthor when she saw him, lol.
But damn if I don't think Another Lex Luthor a really intriguing character, along with what his Earth was like. I'm more interested in this version of Lex and his subplot because I love the character arc of a fallen hero. Like, this Lex seems like he's a genuinely good person and thinks he's doing the right thing because he doesn't want this Earth to suffer at Kal-El's hands like his did. He wants to protect this Lois Lane even if she's not the same woman as his wife in the other Earth. It also explains why he tried reaching out to Prime's Sam Lane, too. But he's doing increasingly bad and twisted things in his obsession to destroy what he sees as an absolute evil. His mission is corrupting him into a villain and he's too fixated on its end to see that.
He isn't a megalomaniac like his typical counterparts, but he will likely become more desperate and corrupted by that desperation in pursuit of what he thinks is a noble goal. It makes this Lex a much more tragic and sympathetic character, and also one with a path to redemption. It will be really interesting to see his fallen hero's journey play out. Will he succumb to evil and become the very villain he sought to destroy? Or will this Kal-El's compassion make him realize the error of his ways and turn back to being the good person he once was?

Interview with Todd Helbing on what's to come in the next couple of weeks www.kryptonsite.com/kryptonsite-interview-superman-lois-showrunner-ep-todd-helbing/Todd also reveals that the original plan was to feature Diggle in five episodes, but the pandemic cut the whole story down to just one. Diggle will also be the only character from the Arrowverse crossing over this season, although Helbing reveals he would love to bring The Flash over.
