It’s another thing symptomatic of 90% of wrestling today: putting opponents in the ring right before they are scheduled to wrestle on ppv. This week it was Riho and Sakura. Keep them apart, or limit it to confrontations before and after the bell.

I’ve said this a couple of times and I’ve seen a few people in this thread say it but character engagement.....You can put in a technically good match but honestly if I don’t care for the character then I don’t really give a s*** or have an interest in who wins/loses. Now this is a personal feeling for me so anyone who disagrees etc I respect your opinion and ain’t trying to s*** on the wrestlers none of whom suck
For instance the women’s tag match. Apart from Freddie Mercury cosplay which isn’t anything really, there’s no character for any of the ladies so far. I went back and checked how long it lasted and was stunned it was only 15 minutes. I would have swore it went on for 30-40 because it (for me) just dragged and dragged because I didn’t care for the wrestlers involved
Compared to the main event where there are characters and an interest in the wrestlers and it flew in and was a load of fun. Even Hangman Page with his “Cowboy s***” line last week for a lot more investment in him I felt

Mine is the same as most people's here; more character development and a reason to care about them. Whether it's in ring promos, pre-taped promos, hype videos... whatever. I want to know more about everyone. This is especially a problem in the women's division so far. To give AEW their due though, I do think they're improving on this, slowly. The most recent show did far better at introducing characters and storylines than the first show did, for example.
Also, the entrance themes don't come across well on TV. They need to turn the volume up or something.

Last night, the tag matches felt a lot tighter and heels could actually build heat, so glad that aspect looks to have been sorted.

They need "name" jobbers like WCW had, that way the pushed acts don't have to always beat one another. I'm talking about getting some Glacier/Jerry Flynn/Mike Enos/Hard Work Bobby Walker type guys. Brandon Cutler, John Silver & Alex Reynolds, The Librarians, Michael Nakazawa, QT Marshall, Sonny Kiss.

I f think they need to get a bit better with timing the end of the show. Overall this hasnt been an issue but I feel there have been a few times where the main event feels rushed

Riho and Emi served a purposed to tell a story that Emi knows everything about Riho.

Probably Emi Sakura, either tell her to tone down her act or bring another veteran to replace her.

Still way too many topes...
But has anyone noticed they've finally scaled back on crowd reaction shots (Britt Baker aside)?
Camerawork is also missing fewer high spots / dives. Jungle Boy, Jack Evans and Nick Jackson were notoriously hitting big moves out of focus in the earlier weeks.
Also, theme songs are getting better, at least less generic.
Finally, commentators and promos (Brandi, MJF, etc.) are now seemingly self-referencing the online criticisms in a clever way.

Definitely questionable where they put it into the match, but Big Swole was oh so smooth in taking it from her. I guess it played into Sakura not taking Swole seriously, but it should have been earlier in the match I think.

I’d have to say the difference in reffing between Aubrey and Knox/Bryce. I really like Knox and Bryce but they kind of look like tools. And I don’t mind J.R calling them out because there should be some more consistency. Or the workers should do a better job distracting them/doing things so they can’t see it. Though Penelope’s interference on Dark (that was in the refs face “) vs on Dynamite (with Spears being a distraction) was an improvement.
On that note, I have really enjoyed AEW and it’s the first weekly wrestling show I have watched regularly in at least a decade.

It's been 11 weeks. They need to fire their sound mixer so hard that he never recovers and get someone who's not a drooling incompetent.

That's a problem with undercard booking in general, moves are being done just to do them, like the match rules are 'first person to hit 15 flips wins!' I feel like this is part of the reason JR has struggled to find his groove. There are a lot of matches like this and I don’t think he knows how to call a match like that. I wouldn’t either. I’ve noticed it particularly in Tag Matches. Guys are hitting these double team kill shots and getting two counts. You can’t get excited for each move or you’ll exhaust the audience (and yourself when you’re JR’s age)

here's one. #4 ranked contender britt baker and #5 ranked contender Kris satlander face off to become the #1 contender next week. meanwhile Shida (who failed the britt baker reaction challenge in the crowd tonight) who we were told is still ranked #1 despite her recent loss to satlander (and victory over britt to get to #1 to begin with) is nowhere to be found in the match for the #1 contendership. I mean make it a triple threat at least.

They haven’t ended a show with someone saying “pier 6 brawl” yet. Otherwise, I’m generally satisfied.
