...because I've watched some Chuck and The Goldbergs lately and that's the song they used in both
also Freaks and Geeks, The Sopranos, I Love You Man and the Waterboy. Fry was also listening to it an Anthology of Interest segment on Futurama.

"Trees" gets some play in stuff, too, I think, but not as often.

Limelight's pretty good. ... It's also similar enough to Tom Sawyer that I do have a certain tendency to get them mixed up, admittedly.

You will never truly hate that song and Rush until you’ve worked on a construction site in the Greater Toronto area

I consider Spirit of Radio to be their most well-known song, at least it is here in the UK.

My favorite Rush story isn't even a Rush thing, at least not directly, but a gal mocking Styx to me by describing them as, "Rush if they were dumber in every way". So, seeing Rush mentioned just kind of makes me grin looking back on that.

Styx's instrumentation tends to be more orchestral-sounding and their singing is much more over-the-top.

She provided a point of comparison, to be fair to her, but I don't remember what it was, it was forever ago. I mostly just remember it for "dumber in every way" amusing me.

The Trees Closer to the Heart Spirit of the Radio Fly by Night 2112 Freewill Limelight New World Man Summertime Blues (a really kickass cover they did around 2002)
And those are just singles off the top of me head. Geddy Lee is awesome tho, and Neil Peart is probably the best drummer ever if it’s not Bohnam. I’m Canadian, I’m biased as all f***. Rush are gods to my circle of friends

I think they did a song about flying by night away from here, and changing their lives today?

I am aware Rush did other songs, more making fun of the fact movies and TV shows mostly use that as there go to Rush song, even if somebody is a fan in show

The band "Big Time Rush" always amuses me to see namedropped, because it implies Rush are, what, the small time version?

Also, Metallica's only song was Enter Sandman, and Nirvana's only song was Smells Like Teen Spirit.

This thread also reminds me of the movie Fanboys.
"All you have is Rush. Don't you have any variety?"
"Rush IS variety."

It's such a shame that Tom Sawyer is the only Rush anthem that you'll hear in most moving pictures. I mean I won't fault anyone who wants to use it because they can use their freewill to do what they want. Still I wish creators who want to use a Rush song would look at their entire catalog instead of making such a fly by night decision, give another song the limelight.

Subdivisions is my favorite Rush song. That's all I have to add.
