YouTube can stop a channel from making money with its content at any time, and pro wrestling is one of the most affected genres. Wrestling companies are mostly using YT to advertise themselves, not to make money. Corgan only uses music that he has the rights to. His channel is monetized. It's original content. He owns the music, and the matches. Nothing that anyone can file a claim against the channel for. That's a few grand a month, which covers several flights for each taping. YT can demonetize your channel for anything, including the subjects discussed in your videos. Pro wrestling is one thing that's been hit hard as YT typically considers it to not be "advertiser friendly" content.

I may had said this before early in the post. Now could they get a TV maybe. It depends on what level of network. Now being at lets says WWE or AEW levels? No. I say that because between the two, they taken out most of the major networks. I mean hard to figure out what I mean.
WWE: Takes away Fox and all of the channels related. USA takes away NBC since they are owned and the relationship with ESPN. AEW: All turner owned networks. Impact: Owns AXIS
So now you look at who is left? CBS channels? Maybe. Vicom networks? Unlikely because how things went down with Dixie who no fault but her own. Shouldn't reflect on other companies. But since Spike was rebrand to Paramount, I doubt wrestling fits into that.
The reason why Impact was dropped was because Dixie was a moron. She insulted the networks she was on and they why they dropped them. Plus refusing to get ride of Russo which what Spike wanted. Shows how much of a moron she is.
Now the NWA best bet would be an MLW level deal. Finding a network in the same level is you will. I mean networks are not going turn wrestling away because being hard to work with. Thats not the case most of the time. I mean you hear nothing about TNT having any kind of issues with AEW. You don't see BEIN Having issues with Court. You get some from Vince yes but not enough to say no to giving Vince big money deals. So its not really a reputation thing unless your name is Dixie or you someone who decides to bring Russo around. Which nobody is.
Now if the NWA is seeking a ton of house holds. There best bet I think would be WGN. Since they hosted a pre show for All IN and was successful and was rumored in the AEW TV deal. There could be interest and NWA could make a case. Do they need more star power or whatever to get it? Who knows.

Guaranteed, if you are Billy Corgan, and your videos get demonetized for some reason, all it takes is one phone call. If his project here was anything else but pro wrestling, that might matter. WWE's channel has around 60 million subscribers, and even they would be screwed if they suddenly needed to rely on YouTube ad money.

That's not quite how Youtube works, and you're confusing demonetization with advertising. A video can get a million hits and stay monetized, and still not make enough for the Youtuber to buy a new TV, much less run a show. Monetized hits are a paltry part of the income for a Youtube channel. It's all about the advertising and which companies/brands want their product advertised on your video, and there's not enough phone calls Billy could make to change that. Youtube placing ads from major brands on your video gets you the money. With "Wrestling Youtube," unless you're WWE, you're looking at razor-of-the-month clubs, not Gillette. And you get paid accordingly.

I like NWA and what theyre doing, but lets say Im a TV exec and I think "We should get some wrestling on my station." I look at NWA.
1. The first episode has 640k views, not bad. The 18th episode has 180k. Wow, and thats a pre-pandemic episode from Feb 11. I go and check someone Im familiar with, like Matt Hardy. He put a video on Feb 10, and it has 254k views.
2. I do some more research about what kind of stories come out of NWA. What kind of buzz have they gotten. Jim Cornette comes up. Them not editing out the comments comes up. I see who defended the comments.
3. Fine. Whats the most theyve ever drawn to a live show? Ok.
Do I go any further in putting together a TV deal for them? Why? Because they're nichey? I like them, but does it have an audience after the intial old school fun thing wears off?

And you get paid accordingly. I do have experience with this. I'm involved with an independent promotion that has 1/4 of the subscribers that the NWA has, and they get paid about $500 a month (with only about 50,000 subscribers). Their payment is based on watch time, of videos that don't have any content that can be claimed by other entities. The NWA channel, with 200,000+ subs, is likely bringing in around $2,000 a month right now, which for an indie, isn't chump change. That covers about 8-10 plane tickets for each taping. Add the ticket money to the tapings, which if it's about 200 people at an average of $15 is $3,000, so they're probably coming close to covering payroll based on tickets and YouTube alone, without a TV deal. They obviously have other expenses, too, like renting the facility, hotel rooms, etc., but in the grand scheme of things, those added expenses are a drop in the bucket for someone like Billy Corgan to keep going. I'm sorry, but $2,000 is absolutely chump change. *I* make that much a month, and I don't have to pay 20+ talents, a commentary crew, a camera crew, the editors and everyone else, and I barely scratch by paying basic utilities. As far as the crew and office goes, I just went to one of the more recent actual Power shows on YT and there are over 50 non-wrestler members of their organization, from editors to make-up artists. Fifty. Those people aren't working for free. And just three or four of their higher-tier workers alone would take that entire $2,000 as their pay.
