Point blank is LBJ did not go back to the Cavs out the goodness of his heart He saw an emerging PG in Kyrie who was clearly going to be great and a bunch of young trade pieces that can be flipped for better players if need be. LeBron could mold the team as he wanted and they won a chip for it. Now will see if the same happens with Lakers What's funny is that Bennett was already thought to be a bust. If he wasn't they could have actually gotten something for him instead of Minny taking a flyer on him. They could have flipped him for some affordable shooting if he wasn't basically Josh Jackson on steroids. Outside of Wiggins, who people thought would be a star, their best young moveable player looking back on it was Joe Harris. Who ended up being traded a year or two later with a 2nd for a future 2nd. So Orlando basically got him for free, and also ended up waiving him.

Because Wade was getting old and the pieces around them were old. Add on Chris Bosh wanting to get paid too and he knew the team would not be championship ready like they were for the 4 years. The Spurs came back and chopped them and no way Miami was better then them

Minnesota basically took the flyer on him because of that dreaded change of scenery excuse in thinking that will make him better Minnesota could have played harder ball but they didn't just being satisfied in getting Wiggins. Tho out of all the players the Cavs drafted, the only one consistently good was Tristan Thompson being a great energy guy and complimentary piece to LeBron

Giving a team a player to contend and then hoping for a lottery pick or picks. Wiggins was supposed to be really good at the time. I honestly thought him and Jabari were very good, albeit not elite prospects. Who knows what Wiggins does in GS?

I think Wiggins is still a 20 PPG scorer, he just needs work ethic which someone like Draymond will drill into him. He’s a better Rudy Gay offensively. What’s weird about Wiggins is he was supposed to come in as a defender and he can’t defend shit. He is still young and has the tools but need to get it together Jabari was very unlucky with his injuries. I still think he can be a great sixth man but he was a guy who if healthy would been a 20, 5 and 5 guy

Kinda worked out for them in a way.

Idk if Middleton really breaks out the way he does if Jabari is a 20 PPG scorer I do think he would been more underrated then he is and Mil would had to let him go because someone would have offered the max. The big question would been if Jabari was healthy, who out of Brodgon, Middleton and Jabari are the two you choose to be Giannis running mates

He seems more comfortable at SF, even though he came up with them at the time as a 2. But Brogdon has the inside track as a combo guard. I think he ends up with decent minutes regardless. It would cap the potential of all 3 though.

F*** it, put McGuire and Sosa in the Hall, THEY SAVED THE SPORT! See it is a weird disconnect tho I think once they admitted (or at least McGuire) admitted to the roids, they cut themselves out of that discussion. Like the whole era is juiced but those guys are going to take hits because they aren't going to be given benefit of doubt and their careers came in part thanks to the juice. They don't have that grey area to lean on like Bagwell

I dunno if McGwire or Sosa would even have the numbers to get into the Hall even assuming they were 100% clean. Roger Maris isn't even in the HOF.

I dunno if McGwire or Sosa would even have the numbers to get into the Hall even assuming they were 100% clean. Roger Maris isn't even in the HOF. Mark McGwire said in last night's "30 for 30" what I've been (less politely) saying for years. He described himself as a "fly ball hitter," whereas I've said he's a beer-league softball player. His whole career was predicated on digging his heels in at the batters' box and swinging the lumber as hard as he could. Once performance-enhancers became part of the equation, then those warning-track flyouts became upper-deck home runs. That's how he ended up at 583 career home runs. But nothing else about his resume is particularly special. He doesn't have 2,000 career hits, his career batting average is a hair above .260, he never ran the bases well and he was competent with the glove until he became too bulky to field the position. Credit him for saving the sport in 1998 and maybe he and Sammy Sosa deserve some acknowledgement or special section in Cooperstown, but he's not a Hall of Famer at all. Sammy Sosa is a more interesting case, because he was more of a polished, all-around player than McGwire and he doesn't have the steroid confirmation that McGwire has. What's linked to his name is definitely a lot more than just smoke, though. Plus he has the corked bat fiasco that history seems to have forgotten. If I had a vote, I wouldn't induct him, but he's got an argument - 609 home runs, nearly 2,500 hits, 234 steals - which is more of a case than McGwire.

Not sure how "hot" this take is; but baseball HoF voters need to get their heads out of their asses. There are racists and murderers in the different Halls, using steroids isn't the worst thing to happen to baseball.

The biggest 4 problems with baseball are all off the diamond.
In no particular order: cheap owners, shitty leadership, shitty union, flat out bad marketing,

How the negations went just to get baseball back during the pandemic. I can't see the CBA talks after next season going well and the MLB is going to take a big hit when that dos happen.

There is definitely a strike coming. It's not just a pandemic year, this labor dispute has been brewing for the past 3/4 years. Everybody knew it was coming next year, but the pandemic forced both sides to come to the table early and we knew what was going to happen then. Their relationship with each other is beyond toxic rn.

The general public is only going to see "Rich guys fighting richer guys in the middle of a pandemic and a shit economy"... and Baseball is going to end up even farther in the hole. It's nearly the perfect storm to send the entire sport down a hole that it might never recover from.
