"One-year flukes like Leicester City notwithstanding, a sudden billionaire benefactor is pretty much the only way a European team can sustain any upward mobility at all" It wasn't a fluke. You can't get lucky in a 38 game season. I agree it wasn't a fluke even if LC had some lucky breaks out of their control that season . But hypothetically even if you wish to emulate Leicster City's achievment and you are not one of the top teams in England,Spain,Germany or Italy the second you shock the world and win a League title or Champions League you won't be able to keep your roster intact let alone improve it and rich teams will just take your best players and treat you like organ donors/a farm team.

-Marty Brodeur is an amazing goaltender. That said, the only reason his numbers are better than Patrick Roy's are is because St. Patrick never had the crazy-ass defence Marty did. - people always knew Barry Bonds was roided to the gills and its ridiculous that sports journalists and MLB only acted like it was a bad thing after the fact. Brodeur and Roy are #1 and #1a in my book. Marty always had trouble with wraparound goals though. And I say that EVERYBODY AND THEIR DEAD GRANDMOTHER knew that steroids were running rampant in MLB. And Selig and everybody in a position of power looked the other way while the roided up monsters launched baseballs a mile and a half, because people were tuning into baseball again. Especially during the home run chase with McGwire and Sosa. Because if there had been another strike, baseball was going to die.

I know Yadier Molina can still produce, but it’s still time to give the younger Cardinal catchers some more starts.

The Chicago Bears will never win another Super Bowl with the McCaskey family still in charge/owning the team.

I think the NBA is somewhat rigged still to this day. We won’t see a Super Bowl 100 at the very least nowhere as close to as big as it is today The NBA is absolutely rigged.

MMA anaylysts and mma fighters that think they can beat boxers because they have mma angles. Like what are yo guys talking about? You mean wrestling or jiu jitsu setups? Well hate to break it to you dummies but you can't use them in boxing. And there isn't a punch you can throw that an elite boxer hasn't seen. If these mma guys wanted to make boxer money then they should have gotten into the sport of kings long time ago instead of wasting thier time in mma.
Oh and people who think boxing isn't real fighting....

I think it's pretty clear that they're talking about fighting, in general. Where you absolutely can use wrestling and BJJ. And "the sport of kings"? You mean horse racing?

Robin black said conor would beat floyd because of these supposed mma angles during the build up for that match. Now he may not be a top rated analyst but he is an anaylst I guess. And jorge masvidal recently stated in an interview that he thinks he could beat canelo in a legit boxing match because of said mma angles. Now can an mma guy beat a boxer in a real fight? 9 out of 10 times yes because they just got more tools to work with. I have heard boxing being called sport of kings too... I guess it is not exclusive

US Men's Soccer sucks and has sucked the entire millennium.
Jose Aldo was the most overrated champion in UFC history.
The top 5 most overrated QBs in NFL history in the Super Bowl era are, in order, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco, Joe Namath, Phil Simms, and Dan Marino.
The 3 most overrated coaches in that same era are Mike Tomlin, Mike McCarthy, and Mike Ditka. Forgot I made a similar point already. Ditka was still not that good, though.

Is it a hot take to say the Kings made the biggest NBA draft blunder of the entire 2000’s by not taking Luka Doncic, or is this just a straight up fact? In 2009 the Timberwolves at 5 and 6 took 2 point guards (Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn), the 7th pick in that Draft was the Warriors taking Steph Curry. Hell, that same year, the Grizzlies took Hasheem Thabeet at 2, over Curry and Harden. In 2011, the Bucks at 10 took Jimmer, the Warriors at 11 took Klay Thompson. At 15 in that same Draft (after Alec Burks, Markief Morris, and Marcus Morris), the Pacers took Kawhi Leonard, and then traded him to the Spurs. Luca's good, but he's not on Curry, Harden, Klay, and Kawhi level, yet.

J.J. Watt. I mean, this guy. Everyone calls him the next Lawrence Taylor. Everyone says how great he is? Know what isn't great? His rings. Know how many rings he's got? Same as I got. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
Come back to me when you do it in the playoffs. Buh.

We're starting a team and all other things are equal...you take Terry Bradshaw, and I'll take Dan Marino and go from there. We'll see who goes farther.

Worst drafting team of all time? 2009 Kings —> Tyreke over Curry 2010 —> DeMarcus (got this one right, failed him every step of the way) 2011 —> Jimmer (Drafted rights to Biyombo, traded) over Klay and Kawhi 2012 —> Thomas Robinson over Lillard 2013 —> Ben McLemore over Giannis 2014 —> Nik Stauskas over anyone and everyone 2015 —> Willie (fine, he just failed) 2016 —> PapaG (Lmao) 2017 —> De’Aaron (Got lucky, took the 5th remaining out of a five deep draft) 2018 —> Pick traded in a horrible salary dump 2019 —> Bagley over Luka (End me)

The NFL would be better if it contracted to about 24 teams. Right now there aren't enough QB's with starting talent walking the earth to field 32 teams, and that doesn't even account for injuries, early retirements and other freak things.
Same with kickers, although I'd also argue that shitty kicking makes the game BETTER! No longer is anything basically "an automatic score", unless it's Brees/Rodgers with 60 seconds, a timeout and the ball.
