I actually was thinking of giving NWA a Chance with this news.
And then they went and gave Cornette a special thank you goodbye. So guess not.
Still I expect Stu bennett to do a great job.

Ooh, good choice. Hopefully his having been with Lucha Underground for five minutes doesn't result in another run-in with Dorian Roldan.

Darn, I'm quite intrigued by this proposition. Unfortunately I also remember shows are canned with poor oversight.

Yep, don't want to drag that dirty laundry into here, but SOMEONE decided to lock the old thread...it's a real shame, because what they had going for them was nice, but I can't support a company that stands behind what Cornette did like that. Still, Bennett is an interesting add to their team, so they got that going for them...

Interesting. They had a decent number of potential options, and I think this sounds like a solid, if surprising, choice.

Great choice, but I can't support the current management of the NWA. When Corgan and Lagana are gone, I'll come back.

I mean, I'd at least consider it if Lagana's gone, because f*** that guy in particular, but right now, yeah, content to follow NWA from a distance, mostly out of curiosity for the overall health of indies wrestling, but can't say I want to spend my time or money on them right now.

I think the real management killer for me came with the Observer report that Lagana was taking responsibility for the comment slipping through and that in the past Lagana caught and edited out other Cornette indiscretions. Because it said pretty plainly that they know what Cornette's doing and just edited around it, a) not having someone do a quick 'did something slip through the edit' watch b) I guess figuring Cornette saying out of line stuff was okay if they edited it out and made him look better. That's just lunacy.

Whilst it looks as if the NWA is doomed under its current management lets see this as a chance for Bennett to learn his craft and gain a load of experience before eventually ending up in WWE or AEW in 3-5 years from now.

While I haven’t watched since Cornette’s comment, Barrett may bring me back for an episode out of curiosity.
For me, Lagana leaving would be enough for me. Corgan owns the promotion and I don’t see him selling, plus I still think it’s a big deal for someone like him to be involved in wrestling in any way. Although, I don’t like that they gave Cornette a farewell message, so I dunno. My time with NWA may be over. ☹️

Is he done as a wrestler then? Someone said he hasn’t stepped in a ring sine he left WWE.
