Marko is brilliant, the kid is doing what every single one of us dreamed of and I simply can't hate him for that. He makes me smile every time he gets into the ring, and that's all that matters.
And he probably f***ed your Mum.

I really don't. He's short, he can wrestle and is he the son of c-list actor Pauly Shore of "Encino Man" fame? Can anyone tell me why I should care for Marko Stunt? If Le Champion doesn't, should I? He is the size of el torrito. So i want to see el torrito and swoggle in aew with the dude just to see how small he is But his role is get thrown by large men

People acting like Rey Mysterio hasn't been one of the biggest names in wrestling for 25 years. They're the same height.

Rey has a few inches on Marko (he's not the 5'6 WWE has him billed at, but he's not Marko's 5'2 either), but the Rey Mysterio Jr. who got white hot in 1996 definitely didn't have the muscle that today's Rey has. He looked like a child wearing a mask with a couple tattoos, just as Marko looks like a child with a few tats himself.

He's a manager who wrestles, takes a few big spots and eats a pin after making even smaller guys look like hosses. He comes off as sympathetic, they come off as heelish and everyone benefits. I'd have an issue were he regularly booked to go over guys like Swaggle was, but he's fine and gives talent a chance to get creative like that super long suplex spot with the former LAX.
When he get older and less babyfaced, I'm sure he'll pivot nicely into being a Rockstar Spud type hateable little weasel, or Harvey Whippleman without the suck.

He does that stupid floss dance. That alone should give him go away heat from me but he seems like a good dude. I do agree he messes up the dynamic with LS and Jungle Boy. I just don't think he needs to be with him but then who would you put him with?

Rey was billed at 5'3 for years, which tells me there's no more than an inch in it against Marko. But yeah you're definitely right about Rey also looking incredibly young for a long time.

I don't get him as a face. As a heel manager? He could be like a modern Jimmy Hart. That floss thing would get Vickie Guerrero heat.

I've met both Marko and Rey this year, and I can tell you Marko's definitely shorter by a couple inches, unless he's also kayfabing 5'2 which might actually be a possibility.

That I can believe to be fair. I would say 5'0 would be realistic when you consider that when he was stood toe to toe with Jericho this week he came up to Jericho's chest and Jericho isn't exactly Andre the Giant himself.

It’s hard to appreciate just how revolutionary that he was as his offense has been in everyone’s move set(and advanced upon)ever since and he had a cool mask/looked like a superhero. Marko just looks like the kid that teamed with Braun or something. He has his place but he’s in no way in the same stratosphere as OG Rey other than height.

Rey was doing things that literally looked superhuman, that had never been seen in a wrestling ring before.
Marko's offense consists of tornado DDTs, huracanranas, and his partner throwing him at people. I can watch 200 other guys who can do tornado DDTs and huracanranas, thanks.

People always try to pull the "Rey is An All time great" card. No one is comparing that, they are comparing that despite size there is a place for him.He has some of the best offense(just watch his tag team prowess, from the small thing like when he does a told hold, instead of tripping the guy ,since marko is so light, the guy gets stuck in place ,losing balance and allowing Jungle Boy to pull a surprise hit). It is different,it is fun. And it is fun to see how people manhandle him. And yeh when he turns heel it will also be great.

People are saying he doesn't work with Lucha Express, but having Stunt around to take the pins in their tag matches will keep the other two looking strong, so he's at least got that going for him.
Plus he's OVER with those live crowds

I mean he's also doing springboard Dragonrana's, Assisted Pumphandle 450's, and Top Rope Corkscrew Cutters onto people hanging off Luchasaurus in AEW, but sure let's simplify what he does to make him look like shit some more. Here's the facts, yeah you can watch people do that shit, but Marko is an actual different body type and person in that ring. He looks different, he wrestles different because of how small he is, he HAS to be different and does do innovative, different spots in the ring, and allows other workers to work different styles and have different spots, due to his size in the ring as well. Also he's very over with live crowds, which reciprocates what I'm saying here, he's not some dude you can pick out of a barrel, he's earning his keep in wrestling, as Marko Stunt. And it's awesome.

None of that stuff is particularly innovative and nobody in AEW really works a different style from anybody else, which is one of my problems with it.

It was easy to take Rey seriously because he was presented as a wrestler. Marko seems child like sometimes, like if Eugene and Hornswoggle had a love child, it would be Marko Stunt. That's one of the reasons I cannot take him seriously in the ring and overall.
