I never understood his or Animals 2000s runs. Seems like a fever dream.

How about this: remember Tatanka at Wrestlemania 32?

Wasn't Russo responsible for his Summerslam '94 heel turn? (because SWERVE bro!) But yeah I was really marking for the guy as a kid before that as were many others. His mid 2000s-run was very forgettable though. No. It was Vince McMahon trying to do a commentary on the justice system during his steroid trial. A man (Lex Luger) was being falsely accused of something by the real bad guy (Tatanka).

It was weird. A friend who had stopped watching in the 90s messaged me to say he just saw f***ing Tatanka on his TV!

The worst thing about his heel turn was they changed his great original theme to some generic crap.

How about this: remember Tatanka at Wrestlemania 32? So legendary, even the announcers didn't know he was there till half way through the battle royal. The most genuine emotion they've shown in years was going "Wait a minute, is that Tatanka?"

I love that he got revenge on the white man by attacking Lashley.
That's glorious in its pure stupidity.

I’ll never forget how he took his frustrations out on “The White Man”.... Bobby Lashley.

That entire era was weird on SmackDown. You had Tatanka, Road Warrior Animal, and Fit Finlay all just deciding they're full time wrestlers again, but being treated with zero reverence.

Just laying here thinking about how 90's bars would kill to have Tatanka's theme on the line-dancing floor but no one can edit out the intro

Immediately put on Tatanka's theme music to background while I started reading this thread.

I honestly think that Finlay run was pretty cool. Seriously, lumping Finlay's return in with those other two is completely unfair. Finlay came back and looked like a star.

How about this: remember Tatanka at Wrestlemania 32? I wouldn't have if you hadn't just reminded me LOL I was at WrestleMania that year and when Tatanka came out my whole section was kind of in disbelief as everyone was wondering out loud to each other, is that Tatanka?!

Completely forgot about that. Now I have to dig through the Network tonight to watch some of his stuff from that era. Yes, a weird comeback that seemed to have absolutely no point to it.

The most genuine emotion they've shown in years was going "Wait a minute, is that Tatanka?" The best thing about that was watching that with friends, who were like "Is that Tatanka?!" And then JBL (I think) in the same tone asks "Is that Tatanka?!"

I love that he got revenge on the white man by attacking Lashley. That's glorious in its pure stupidity. I remember seeing a shoot interview years back, he mentioned that sometime in 96 he was to feud with Ahmed Johnson, but refused to because he saw the match he had with Jarrett and decided he wasn't safe. I'm wondering if his feud with Ahmed was gonna be something like that. That would've been hilarious, Ahmed Johnson, White Man. Imagine the promos between the two.

Finlay still had something left in the tank and had some solid matches during his run. The other two were absolute hot garbage

I never understood his or Animals 2000s runs. Seems like a fever dream. For some reason in around 2005-7 vince wanted experienced guys to be lower card wrestlers with the aim of getting others over like Finlay, Animal, one of the Armstrongs, Rodney Mack, The Godwin who wasnt Mideon, Jazz, Gangrel, Johnny Swinger and Bill De Motte and they all bar Finlay got released in early 2007
