AEW with a good bounce back at 851,000 beating NXT this week who got 845,000 very close week for the shows but AEW bounced back from last week.

I think the big question now is whether NXT can keep up the Survivor Series momentum. If it can then they'll likely continue to be very close for a long while, if they can't then I can see AEW pulling ahead again.
Either way clearly both shows have more or less found their niche.

I think what we'll see is that NXT will spike when there is main roster involvement or crossover stuff going on, but then it will flatten back down to the usual numbers and AEW will win the night. We'll see if NXT maintains that 850,000 or so viewers.

I actually wonder how much the audio issues affected this. I could see a lot of people opting to flip over to NXT to see what they were doing after how screwy that was to start with.

If AEW continues to beat them in the ratings it's not a good look. I wish both shows were on different nights because they're both killing it.

NXT is not presented as the A show whatsoever. They got a boost and that’s really where it lives and dies SD and Raw still hold way more importance without question

NXT was shown to be the superior brand at Survivor Series. Their womens champion beat Becky and Bayley in the main event. Keith Lee pinned Seth Rollins. I think we're past the point now of NXT being the minor leagues.

NXT really wasn't put over THAT hard at Survivor Series. Lio Rush won by way of just hanging back and kill-stealing, the women's tag match had tons of cheating, Strong also just kill-stealed, the only reason they were competitive at all in the men's match is because SmackDown kept attacking each other and SmackDown still beat them anyway, and while Baszler won the main event clean the final image was Becky laying her out.
I feel like they got more visibility from the whole thing than they did credibility.

Neilson ratings don't care about storylines. Those people dont care who won at Survivor Series they care about numbers. The show with the most numbers is the A show come on now. We can't be doing this.
Great for AEW but honestly I overestimated them. I figured they'd do over 1M again but I was wrong. The honeymoon phase is over. Seems they're settling into a rhythm now which is dope for then.

Glad to see AEW bounce back and win again.
The whole Survivor Series stuff has definitely given NXT a boost. Can they sustain it?

It will be all about sustainability for NXT, they have a big two week stretch coming, but so does AEW, since they seem to be taking Christmas Week off (WWE's doing tapings that week as well to be fair), but it's overall really nice to see AEW bounce back
I think they could reach a million again, but right now this is good to see, they need to keep building momentum and putting on a show people want to see. The Honeymoon Phase is over as has been stated, but that doesn't mean anything bad, it just means AEW's shown what it can bring and what it's brought is really nice the first ten shows.

Besides that I don't see any characters who have that type of impact yet but Moxley is bigger than AEW's current storylines given his past so we'll see.

Survivor Series never has any long-reaching repercussions. Smackdown and Raw are the 1 and 1A shows and NXT is still the C-brand despite how well they did at Survivor Series.

I will admit I want AEW to beat NXT in the ratings not because I dislike NXT (it's a great wrestling show with some talent I really enjoy) I just dislike WWE putting it purposely on the same night to try and take viewers away from AEW and doing all the tricks in the book to try and beat them (pre show, overrun, the whole invasion stuff). And before anyone says NXT has always been on Wednesday they had a slot on Tuesday night waiting for them with Smackdown moving that they would have certainly had if AEW were not around or put their show on Tuesday.
I also think when Triple H called them a pissant company he meant it, I can imagine him saying it to his kliq pals. So I will always enjoy AEW winning to stick it to him.
I'd rather a new company be successful rather than WWE put them out of business because WWE must own all of wrestling.
