We have Jake Hager, who is yet to wrestle a single match. Are there any other non-"major name" ex-WWE guys on the independent scene that you'd like to see in AEW, or think might eventually show up?
People will probably be down on the idea, but if he's healthy I think Ryback could work. There isn't really anyone in AEW with the classic WWF look. Guy could absolutely be a threat.

Please, Jack Swagger is a former main eventer...
And a mid carder...
And a jobber.
But yeh I liked the idea of a Ryback+ Stunt tag team, even if AEW doesn't need it

Once his contract expires and assuming he's interested, Luke Harper as a big man could be, pun unintended, huge in AEW.

I think Rusev could legitimately be a main eventer if given the opportunity.

Chris Masters is still only in his mid 30s I believe, not a huge name but a great look, he's improved a lot from his early WWE overpush and appears to be popular where ever he ends up.

Thats really the point of AEW though. They want to be different to the WWE "look". Vince for years had this land of giants mentality that now since been dated years ago. AEW is limiting just how many "ex WWE" are on the roster because they don't want to become another TNA or end up with the "WWE" light label. Hager hasn't wrestled but they used him in a role that works very well and is a legit MMA fighter now. Ryback is the biggest name out of any former WWE guy out there and he still "meh" to me. Luke Harper would be the next "Ex WWE" that I would welcome to the roster. A big man that can work and is safer. Ryback people said it was a stiff guy and hurt people.

Ryback would be amazing and might even have major crossover appeal like Goldberg, Batista, etc.
Matt Sydal would be great too.

Ryback complained that the $500,000 a year deal the WWE offered him wasn't enough for him to live on. He also dropped CM Punk next to a table then complained to the agents, blaming Punk for it when he had no control over his descent. Ryback also dropped Bryan on his neck after botching a spot, picked him up without checking he was okay then performed the move anyway... AEW can do better.

If you look at the wider amount of big men on the indies right now or even lingering in WWE and think that they should forget all of them and sign a guy who hasn't wrestled in a good few months who has a history of being snug, to put it lightly...I don't know what to tell you.
I liked Ryback at the time but...no.

Barrett. I wish Barrett would return to wrestling. I miss that big Prestonian powerhouse.

There isn't really anyone in AEW with the classic WWF look. There isn't anyone in WWE with the classic WWF look. That's not true. Strowman, Lashley, Jinder Mahal, Brock Lesnar sometimes, Big E, probably others I can't remember.

I'd be all for that. Great look, more versatile than people give him credit for (like his weirdly great feud with Super Crazy), and if he were heel, I'd love to see him Masterlock Stunt and ragdoll him.
