You'll never be able to strut around naked in Japan. This is an issue when visiting certain spas as tattoos are linked to the yakuzi.

I've been wanting one for a while and even have it designed......but think it just looks better in my head and I'm not white and it has lots of color so already been told it may not look like I want it to since I have darker skin.
Still can't decide which looks better or is less painful on the arm/shoulder or chest

If you want to be an actor, don't get tattoos. You'll eliminate yourself quickly from many auditions simply for having them. I’m not sure that’s accurate. Angelina Jolie and Keifer Sutherland are both heavily tattooed, but their screen appearance does not reflect that. Makeup artists aren’t just there to make them look pretty.

You're also referencing two second-generation actors, Angelia Jolie's father being Jon Voight and Kiefer Sutherland's father being Donald Sutherland. If you're an aspiring actor just trying to get your foot in the door, they aren't going to even call you in for an audition if they find out you've got tattoos on your body and the role doesn't explicitly ask for it.

Yeah, if you're already a big superstar, they'll do what they have to to cover your tattoos. If you're just some schmo, forget it.

Unless you go the Robert LaSardo route, and don't mind being cast as thugs, henchmen, and/or gang members.

I waited 8 years to get a tattoo, even though I have a couple of pieces designed that I've wanted for years, because I was worried about the same thing - I have commitment issues and worried I'd end up regretting it.
I started small with one of my wrist, and so far, no regrets. I'd recommend you do the same. Start small, and see how you feel about it.
