It's the same reason people chanted "Husky Harris" at Bray Wyatt when he debuted. They wanna flaunt how "smart" and "in the know" they are about these things. The casual misogyny certainly doesn't help, either. And to make it worse there's, as others here have pointed out, the blatantly sexist part of it: they'd never do this to any of the male wrestlers, because they'd never think to do so, yet the women have to put up with their bullshit. Tyson Kidd used to get Nattie's husband chants, or Nattie's wife. Fact! Although that proves the point, it was meant to demean him.

It'd be funny if, say, John Morrison shows up on WWE TV and some in the crowd start chanting "TAYA! TAYA!" or something, but considering Seth and Almas don't get it, you know nothing like that would happen. Actually, if you want a really good example of such a thing happening to a guy, see a Sam Adonis match live. There will always be the one guy who is very proud to have the privileged knowledge that he's Corey Graves's brother, and not really shut up about it.

She literally used Zack's moves at various points. I knew I’d seen her use the Broski Boot before.

No clue, but it'd be cute if it did; given there's no real track record of guy wrestlers not being taken seriously due to dating/marrying anyone in the business, it'd be pretty funny. Wasn't the crowd, it was a commentator. Ugh, yeah, that’s gross. What the hell kind of commentator does that to talent they’re at least nominally trying to get over with the audience?
