"Triple H came to us and told Ambrose and I that it was our decision," Rollins stated. "If we wanted to continue, if we wanted to do it this night, that was up to us. If we felt like it was wrong, if it felt like something we needed to push back another week, we could do that as well." "Ambrose and I decided collectively that it would be best to do the heel turn that night. We thought the emotional response would be proper and that Roman, he wouldn't mind. It is pro wrestling, you know? We are in the business of telling stories and a lot of that involves emotional rollercoasters. We wanted to do that and I thought from a storytelling perspective it turned out really well." "Had we carried the story better after that? It would have been an awesome rivalry going into WrestleMania, but things changed. I don't regret doing it that night. I just wish we would have had a better opportunity to have a good story moving forward after that, instead of Ambrose having to cut promos about how the crowd makes him sick and all that nonsense." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/12/seth-rollins-admits-jon-moxley-wwe-storyline-following-heel-663513/

100% accurate statement. The turn was great, the stuff afterwards just didn't click no matter how hard Ambrose tried.

Turn was fine.
No matter who tried to make what came after work would have failed. That inoculation segment was death and should have resulted in Vince being shamed out of the planet.

I would've settled for the feud just being GOOD. It wasn't even that.

It should have been the catalyst to what we're seeing from Moxley now but more heelish. I just don't understand why Vince thought having needles in his ass and wearing a mask while calling the crowd smelly was good shit.

Because Vince is incapable of doing anything good anymore Certainly feels that way. I think the last good decision in a while he can be linked to is encouraging pushing Keith Lee in a big way around Survivor Series, supposedly at his urging.

The problem was Vince's image of Dean Ambrose was a wacky character and not a Austin/Pillman loose cannon type that he and nearly everyone else knew he should be.
Both he and Roman should have been mega stars by now, Vince would ruin late 90s Stone Cold in modern day WWE.

I wonder if Dean was checked out before this, and if that played a role.

Without McMahon meddling, a transition from Shield Ambrose to a WWE version of the Mox character would’ve been cool.

Good shit pal!
Although Seth was over here. Crazy to think how both their careers have gone in the space of a year.

The worst thing for me was that after the turn and all the bollocks Ambrose had to say in promos, it was still a blood fued and they just had a PPV match with zero heat and started with a collar and elbow tie up, which considering all that supposedly happened between them in the buildup was farcical.

One of the worst heel turns of all time.
And that’s saying something because Ambrose is 100% a better heel than face.
I don’t know what they were thinking with that whole ass injections and gas mask rubbish.
All they had to do was have him become a deranged sicko.
I honestly think if they handled this better, he would still be in WWE today.

Almost a guarantee they are about to kill a sure fire main eventer dead.

It's admittedly a legit concern, but he also is only getting the push he is in part because of that. Not like NXT was just going to let him wither on the vine, but he was definitely not a priority for them before Survivor Series and its build, so it's a double-edged sword.

I feel like every post I make, that’s a complaint, should come with a disclaimer saying that I recognize that this is actually Vince’s fault.
