Just a little background on me...I’m 34 and have been a lifeline fan of “professional wrestling” my whole life. I’ve gone thru the ups and the downs and even when it’s been a “down” time I have watched.....until now I don’t even know how to describe what I feel about the current state of the WWE, other then I can’t continue to watch it anymore when absolutely everything is horrible.
I’m watching raw and the never ending Jerry Lawler “jokes”. The way everyone talks backstage, no one talks like that!!! You got Vic Joseph is “ok” but he comes across as the kid in class who always sucks up to the teacher. Everything is amazing to him! Every tome a move is it and they show a replay, he throws in a BOOM! His constant yelling before they go to commercial “ can so and so get back in this NEXT?!”” Then you have Joe who is the best of the three but he was this badass soulless heel and now he’s a tweener announcer who talks about heels going to far (the andrade ddt to Humberto on the floor as an example) and you just have to completely forget anything he’s done prior to commentating cause it’s like it never happens.
You get never ending “gauntlet” matches that just kills the crowd and kills the viewer at home. Half the guys in the match have no reason to be in it but somehow we are to believe they are “six of Raw’s best” and that Humberto Richochet portion was just never ending.
The never ending Lana/Lashley stuff.....the same R Truth 24/7 crap with the same guys just chasing him and guys winning every match with a roll up.
Small things like the backstage interviews always being done the same. Both brands backstage interviewers looking like twins!
I cannot take it anymore that small things are just causing me to hate it even more. The stupid set, the way sometimes they use a dark red maroon color of red for the Raw color scheme.
The dumb pointless Street Profit segments! There constantly pushing guys no one really wants to see.
It’s so bad and it’s never been this bad ever! Every single aspect of the shows/presentation/booking/everything single damn thing about WWE in 2019 is just miserable.
How can a promotion with a billionaire owners and countless former wrestlers/ and I’m sure rooms full of college educated people look at this damn company and not just say “ we need a change”

Man, I'm sorry.
Wrestling is such a vast variety show, that the WWE trys to give their fans everything, while at the same time nothing means anything.
I'd tell you not to watch, but I get the love for it. As well as the hate. All I'll say is that, don't give up on wrestling. It's too much fun not to watch, but explore other avenues.

Just stop watching it will make your life 1000 percent better
You don't have to consume it because it is there. I refuse to watch this shit weekly besides NXT, i'll watch segment and keep up with results

Disagree. No matter what it is, whether it's wrasslin or comics or tv shows or video games; having something you love and watch for years turn into something that not only doesn't bring you joy, but actually causes you distress is tough to deal with. |

Disagree. No matter what it is, whether it's wrasslin or comics or tv shows or video games; having something you love and watch for years turn into something that not only doesn't bring you joy, but actually causes you distress is tough to deal with. It just depends how people deal with things I've watched wrestling since I was 2 years old and still continue to almost 30 years later my mindset and feelings have changed on it over the years It's the same with people. You want people and things to last forever but sometimes they don't. It is hard too accept but once you begin to think on it, it gradually becomes easier |

I won’t stop watching wrestling. I still enjoy MLW, NXT (for the most part) and also AEW. Just the “main roster” of WWE and every single aspect of there shows just irks me and I’m done with Raw/Smackdown.

This is why I get my fill from AEW, NWA and MLW. I refuse to support the wwe product because it's just bad tv that's consistantly poorly written. All these amazing athletes and nothing means anything anymore. The dialogue is unnatural. Reactions are unrealistic. Its not must-see tv anymore and hasn't been in a long time.

WWE should either silly it up or make an actual quality show. I agree that the longbutt matches and repeated awkward segments can kill even bigger wrestling enthuasist.

I have to admit this gauntlet tonight left me baffled as well. What was the point of Andrade hitting a DDT on exposed concrete and not just rolling Carrillo in and pinning him to become #1 contender? Why just walk away? And how did Seth Rollins simply waltz in to a title shot without doing anything? Does WWE not realize that they are basically doing the same main angle on both shows, namely a delusional heel that thinks he's a locker room leader while amassing a faction?

I think sometimes, taking a break is needed, or DVRing to skip things, or checking out another promotion.
I think if all I did was watch WWE in 2019, I'd be pretty burned out on wrestling, too, but I stepped back from it and AEW and NJPW brought a lot of much-needed variety. Still follow WWE, but it's nice to be able to just blow it off and still get my wrestling fix met.

Yeah, this is the kind of feeling that I have when I find a new promotion. Given WWE is...WWE, finding a new promotion also comes with a lower time investment, and that is a Very Good Thing at this point.

It’s just baffling to me how bad it currently is and how nothing ever changed. Do they really think Lawler commentary and his random 10 year old jokes are funny? Do they really think the silences during a hour long gauntlet match means nothing? How you can take the most talented roster they have ever had and just make them so dull and boring to the point where it makes you sour on the wrestlers is beyond me. I cannot say 1 positive thing about the main rosters shows in 2019.
I watched wrestlemania 2 today and remember being amazed at the crowds back then, the announcers, everything! Even the undercard matches with no heat had amazing crowd reactions! The Funks vs JYD and Tito Santana was a throw away undercard match but the crowd for that match beats anything I’ve seen on Raw in 5 years.

I love the live threads, but before tonight I had a good thing going for myself on Mondays by skipping the show entirely and reading the results. If something even somewhat interesting happens it's going to end up on YouTube anyway, so I can just check it out there. |
