I know its not the same as a one-on-one match but they could always do Sting & Undertaker as a team against an establish (safe) team on PPV one time.

Give them each a big elaborate entrance and throw all their gimmicks in there. As Uppitynerd said, vultures, bats, smoke, lightning. Maybe make it a casket match. Just all things needed to make it a big spectacle. Not just a match between two guys well past it.

They’ve both looked so bad their last few times out. Sting even got injured. I would have loved it years ago but this would have. Ore potential to be an embarrassing way to close the door on two careers

Goldberg vs. Undertaker was freakin' great before they tried unneeded and much more difficult spots, like tombstone reversal..? - ...they could have a nice 6 minute match, just do nothing too fancy. I would be happy.

At least ten years too late for anything passable as a match.
Just have them do a staredown, mutual nod of respect and then beat the tar out of some heel fools.

I've really never had any clue at all what the appeal of the match is supposed to be, especially now with one of them retired and the other one a shambling husk.

I feel like if Taker wanted this match to happen, it would have happened already.

Makes me wonder wHHHy they didn't do this dream match at Mania 31 when they had the opportunity. Probably because toward the end of his TNA run Sting was a broken down wreck and Undertaker was coming off collapsing at Mania 30. Sure, by the time of the actual show both Taker and Sting were moving perfectly fine, but there was no real way to be sure that'd be the case going in.

2010 would have been the year. Sting was in great shape. I've heard that the undertaker promos for his return that year were set up for a possible Sting match.

I know its not the same as a one-on-one match but they could always do Sting & Undertaker as a team against an establish (safe) team on PPV one time. This sounds good to me. Sting is in the wrong spot and inadvertently causes Undertaker to get pinned. If both guys feel up to it, they can then follow it up with a short one-on-one "street fight" at WrestleMania tailored to accentuate their strengths, which is something that Paul Heyman is great at doing creatively. (To be honest, the more likely scenario is having the tag match at WrestleMania and the one-on-one match in Saudi Arabia.)

Sting vs Undertaker, jousting using mobility scooters? Sure. Otherwise, nah, I'm good.

I just hope they don’t hurt themselves badly, or turn to dust after a spine buster like so

Seeing Taker and Sting face to face would be epic. Sadly the match would probably be a disaster.
I wouldn't mind a segment where Taker or Sting is being beat down and the other makes the save.

Middle of the rumble Double or Triple elimination leaving the ring empty. Sting is next and he gets to the middle of the ring. Clock runs down , light go out, gong hits, lights go up and Taker and Sting are in a stare-down. They stare at each other and just as the countdown starts they turn around and leave the ring; eliminating them selves.
That’s Zen.

Funny thing is that this will end up being one of those hologram matches like something from the film "The Running Man."
Sad thing is that, in a couple years, I may be right.
