This better be true. It's so annoying how they used him in recent times... If I was him I damn sure wouldn't be coming back unless they have something significant for me. He carried the company on his back for a decade and now they need him more than he needs them. In recent years when he's been available to work a big show they put him in nothing matches with Baron Corbin, have him get squashed in 3 minutes at Wrestlemania and get eliminated like it's nothing in a Survivor Series match. And the matches that could/should have been big were given away on television with no build like Nakamura, Strowman and Balor. Even the Reigns match which actually made it to a (B level) pay-per-view should have been treated like a way bigger deal. When they were in their 40s and 50's WWE treated the likes of Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels like megastars and always made sure they had huge marquee matches on the big shows. Meanwhile Cena is a lot younger and a much bigger star and for some reason they don't care to utilize him properly. You'd never see any of those names being booked like Cena has the past 3 years. It's weird, even in his prime when he was the clear top star in the company they still didn't get the most out of him a lot of the time. He made them so much money but it could have been so much more. Why was the first ever Cena/Batista match, anticipated for years, given no build and announced out of nowhere (years before they did the same thing with the Reigns match)? Why did he never get a Wrestlemania match with his biggest rivals like Edge or CM Punk or get a match with streak-intact Undertaker, which could legitimately have been one of the biggest matches of the decade. Why did he spend much of this decade in midcard matches at Wrestlemania playing second fiddle to Lesnar, Triple H, Undertaker? I think there might be some truth to the fact that Cena never really was Vince's choice. He pushed him because of the money he brought in but he was never truly one of his "boys" the way Undertaker/Shawn/Trips were.

NXT heel Cena please. Legit has the possibility to be an all time great story/run.

Years from now, I want a moment where a new wrestler chooses John Cena as his partner and spits the C out of their mouth.

As the headlining Hall of Fame inductee, hell yeah!
A match or even worse a title match or a title run? No thanks.

On that note, it’s seriously gonna blow my mind when Cena gets inducted to the hall of fame. I remember when i first started watching and he was a young up and comer and during the super Cena run, I never imagined a wwe without Cena

If he wants to comeback for a match I’m alright with that but not for a World championship. Take up the undertaker role and just be a special attraction

I mean we're talking about a WWE title scene at WM that might include Tyson Fury or Cain Velasquez. Cena getting #17 is perfectly okay if those are our options, as long as he transitions to someone within a month of winning.

Give me Samoa Goddamn Joe vs John Cena goddammit. This is the ONLY way I'll accept Cena being handed another title run, if he actually puts over someone the fans can get behind. And that guy is Joe. Otherwise stay home. The stale act was stale in 2010.

I mean, if he's asking for that, he should. For all the qualms people have about him (myself included), dude carried the company on his back for a big chunk of time and we'd probably be talking about a very different WWE if they didn't push him. There are consequences of that no doubt but as mentioned by some people, if you make him still big enough to draw, it can work out for you.

NXT heel Cena please. Legit has the possibility to be an all time great story/run. Right, imagine if it's the night after the rumble and Adam Cole is celebrating a hard thought win over whoever or the opposite where the new champion is celebrating dethroning Cole after nobody could. This is going on and then all of a sudden out comes Cena, he is not completely disrespectful of the champ but he is still being a bit of a dick and there's a face off. The champ turns his back to walk away when Cena jumps him and starts beating the hell out of him before declaring that he's chasing the NXT title because he is the real main event and that NXT as a whole needs to get on his level.

If I had to guess, his line of thinking is to increase his star power and keep his name out there. I recall Rock coming back as his action-career was skyrocketing, so he knew tapping back into the WWE audience could only help.
Something “more substantial” than the Elias thing doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be a wrestling match. I do find it kinda weird. Cause his movie career at least seems to be going better than many expected in the near future.

Hopefully he's not playing with fire and it ends up being a trainwreck, but who knows the match could be legendary
