NXT's biggest fault right now that I hope they address in the new year is something AEW has them beat in and wrestling with wregret even said this as well...but NXT needs more characters they need HOLY SHIT WTF HAPPENED moments more often.
That IMO is the biggest missing piece to NXT hell this isn't something even new this dates back to the 1hr wars of NXT and LU....where as NXT was a solid wrestling show , LU had them beat pretty much beginning to end on things to talk about coming out of each episode that went beyond...oh that was a great match.

NXT was solid from top to bottom, and ended on such a high note. AEW was a decent show that ended like a wet fart, and even the crowd was apathetic.
NXT easily was the better show this week, and the numbers are well deserved. This was also the first week I watched NXT first.

What's quite hopeful here is that the numbers for either show did not take any significant slide because of that other big thing that was happening last night. Last night showed where the baseline is for either show in terms of ratings, I think. Things for either should only get better...at least, on paper. The tale to be told, though, is in how hard NXT had to work to win vs. AEW. AEW is not in that state - yet - where every match has to be on the level of a Wrestlemania main event in order to win the night. They can afford, even now, to throw a couple of preliminary bums into the ring in front of their crowds and not take flak for it. NXT can't: it took two main-title championship matches, in one of which the title changing hands, to pull off the 18-49 win. They can't do that every week, and NXT needs more than one defection from the main roster to keep up the frenetic pace it's putting through its rotation without risking injuries. So no credit is given for actually having the ability to stack a card and advertise in advance You advertise to get viewers, that's basic 101. Don't get me wrong - I'll give credit where it's due and it was a stacked card last night on NXT. Given what's happened with WWE overall this year, though, I have to wonder how long NXT can keep up the pace with the roster it has and can pull from, given that the prospective talent pool now has more options to choose from.

It was one of NXT's best shows... ever. It doesn't shock me that it won this week and did very well. It earned it.
Both companies are great, I hate to see either one lose. I just want both to succeed.

Cole/Balor getting 977k is great. Even though Balor is a draw they've really built up Cole up someone who's really becoming one of their company stars. People wanna view him.

Moving to TV really screwed over non US viewers. Nothing to do with ratings but everyone is saying how awesome it is in here and I have to wait til Friday to see it since it's shown on the network in the dead of Thursday night! Yeah that's my biggest pet peeve with the move, yes I am grateful they put the show on the Network the day after but do they really have to air it at 10 PM eastern instead of the more sensible 8 PM time slot?
