Obviously, the issue is that WWE comedy is abhorrent 99% of the time, so this rumor just brings back soul-crushing memories of gems like Old Day, Bobby's sisters, Bayley: This Is Your Life, everything R-Truth has done the past year, ass injections, etc. Could the Revival do comedy well? Yeah, probably. Somewhere else, where the material isn't written to make one guy laugh. That's not even getting into the meta aspect of doing this gimmick on a team that's heavily rumored to be counting the days to when their contract expires. Even the best case scenario is that they become the highest paid comedy tag team in WWE next year.

The only fans excited for the Revival to go to AEW are already watching Dynamite. They won’t bring in new viewers. Have fun burning that WWE bridge to go on a show that’ll be getting 500K viewers by then and might not be around in 2 years.

Vince probably just started watching Dawson's Creek, so get ready for some spoof videos with Scott Dawson. Scott bending over with his ass crack showing. Thus...Dawson's Crack was born.

Not sure how quietly waiting for your contact to expire and doing whatever your employer tells you to do without complaining is burning a bridge.

Hell, the only thing they did was allegedly ask for their release. And I say allegedly because neither man has said they did that outside of weird meta tweets. Compared to Harper, Dillinger etc, they are monks on this matter.

Nice job knocking out Bret Hart's attacker, they said. You're set for life, they said.

I don't know what people want them to do with the Revival. They have been champs multiple times and would probably fit better in the NWA than AEW.

The funniest thing about this, to me, is that if this is an attempt to bury the Revival and cool them off for when they leave, there's a good chance it'll backfire in one of two ways:
If it doesn't get over, the fans will likely just blame bad booking, rather than the performers themselves.
If it DOES get over, that just displays the Revival as being capable of comedy, making them more versatile performers, and arguably more in demand for any company that may sign them.

Humberto is really boring. The big problem is that he barely has a character other than “flippy dude”. At least Ricochet has his “real-life superhero” shtick. It works with Ricochet and Ali because they have more to them than just “I wrestle good” as a character. They were also the first guys to be pushed like how they are. But you can’t do this with multiple guys the exact same way of “look at this cool move while he loses to AJ Styles!” and expect it to work.

Ugh. WWE’s comedy sucks ass, so the last thing I want to see is the Revival doing more back shaving and icy hot segments.
At this point I just want them to go to AEW and mix it up with the Bucks, Lucha Bros, Best Friends, Private Party and SCU.
They had a really good thing going with FTRKO and they ruined it.

Anyone else think if The Revival goes to AEW they'll not be really that more interesting than say Shawn Spears? Scott Dawson as Jamie Noblesque character could be great though, as seen on that 'leaked' video with Alexa Bliss. They remind me of La Résistance and Basham Brothers. Dawson and Wilder have a better and more compelling style than Spears, and a way higher ceiling as they're much younger than Spears, so no, this comparison doesn't work at all Also Tully managing them? PLEASE.

NWA doesn't seem to be signing exclusive deals and they work a very easy schedule with everything Non-PPV being taped. Revival could easily work both.

I'd argue it's mainly because having a title in WWE really doesn't mean very much, particularly for tag titles. I think of it like people arguing that AJ Styles has had a great WWE run because he's had the world title x number of times/days; I'm not saying AJ's had a bad run in WWE by any stretch, but for all the gold he's had he certainly hasn't had a whole lot of memorable feuds or tip-top matches like a lot of people were probably dreaming he could have had.

I think both of Humberto and Andrade are super talents and their futures are bright, but I hate the idea of them feuding because it’s not going to get either guy over.
Both guys need to be put in programs to build them up. Having them work what will undoubtedly be a 50/50 program doesn’t accomplish that.
It’s way too early for these guys to feud.

Wrestling is weird. If an actor or even musician played a comedy character or even a comedy act then most wouldn't care as long as they did it well. In wrestling though if somebody has it, even if they're on screen more, it's apparently a bad thing because a lot think it means they're not taken seriously when they're really just playing a character. Santino's a great example of it because the guy was always doing comedy and he always ended up having something on screen. To this day he's still one of the most memorable stars they've had these past 15 years purely based off of that. I get that the people love The Revival's ringwork, I do too, but those boys at mad talented at whatever they do. As long as they get screen time then it's cool with me. I think being a comedy wrestler is more of a problem in WWE than anywhere else in wrestling. Toru Yano from NJPW is an example of a comedy wrestler whose schtick works. Yano is a goofball, but he also gets major wins sometimes because he's a cheater, and every so often it works in his favor. In WWE, being a comedy wrestler is usually a bust because it often also means that the wrestler is a jobber, on top of having to be in cringeworthy segments. I think Santino is one of the better examples of comedy wrestling because he still got to be effective in the ring sometimes. He was pretty over when he came oh so close to being world champion.
