Rightly so, Adam Cole is getting most of the plaudits for his performances this year and for elevating the NXT title. He is arguably the WWE wrestler of the year.
However his UE stablemate Roddy Strong deserves a mention for having this own stellar year. Dude is one of the best in-ring guys they have in the company and his run in the UE has been the thing his career absolutely needed. I absolutely loved the triple threat with Lee & Dijakovic amongst other consistently decent bouts and was nice to see him get the rub over Naka and AJ of all people at SS.
They teased his breakup from the UE before but I think it was the wrong time. However I can see him dropping the NA belt and turning on Cole soon, and I really think those matches, whichever alliance (like to see Cole face and Roddy heel to be honest) will be awesome.
I like the greasy bastard, and am glad he found a character after being such a boring babyface initially. Oh, and his tag run with Kyle O'Reilly was the f***ing best as well.

Babyface family man Roddy was so hilariously awful. This segment makes me laugh every time:
Since joining Undisputed Era, though, I've really come to like him. Dude's great.

Roddy rose up this year. He's 36 so he's got maybe 10 more years in the business and I'll say it right now, man's gonna basically become The Rock of the Undisputed Era within the next 2 years. Eventually he's going to be getting these wins, getting more shine and then leave the group if not take over the group as they kick Cole out. I don't know which one but the way they're booking him, he's eventually going to go to that next level.

I actually prefer him over Cole and feel like he would be better as the leader of Undisputed Era. I think he's a better heel and even though he's another smaller guy like all the guys in the group I find him more believable in that he actually looks like an athlete unlike Cole who looks more like someone that you would see working at Best Buy or something. Probably a unpopular opinion but I also think he's a little bit better in ring too.

"Always the bridesmaid, never the bride" Roderick Strong falls in the category of incredible wrestler but his superstardom needs a lot of work.
I'm not saying he can't/won't, but without someone to speak for him, it probably won't happen.

Yeah, Roderick's not good enough on the mic to be the leader of Undisputed Era. He's perfect right where he's at as the second in command so to speak.

Strong in UE has been a trip. His evolution into a guy with a character has been great, and it all came about by booking around someone else's injury. Dude accidentally fell into the shot in the arm his career needed, and I think without it he'd be in a No Way Jose kind of position right now.

Yeah I wonder if he becomes heel at all if it were not for Bobby Fish's injury curse. It's definitely Roddy who has benefited from it, and arguably has kept the group from getting stale.

I prefer strong and o'Reilly to redragon because the style of match is more athletic and dickish.
Like them chopping and kicking and elbowing and kneeing dudes never gets old.
They just work so well together
Roddy got me back in pwg as dickhead frat boy heel
Just wish he got to do more of his frat bro promos

Roddy is the Arn to Cole’s Flair.
I hope they never break TUE up. They can be the new Four Horsemen.

Roddy has been an enormous yet pleasant surprise to me. In ROH, in TNA, and even in his early NXT days, I found him to be the polar opposite of that Dos Equis guy. Roderick Strong: The most UN-interesting man in the world. I mean, he always had moves, but when he he spoke, it was instant zzzzzzzz. Somehow, since joining Undisputed Era, he's become one of my favorite guys on the show.

Easy to forget they were positioning him as a piece on 205 Live right before the Fish injury If not for that he'd be floundering on Raw or SD after a brief US title win most likely

His confidence and swagger is unbelievable

I've always liked Roddy but this year he stepped it up another level. Glad to see others giving him his due credit!
