Corbin is one of those guys who will be appreciated long after he’s done.
I see people giving JBL the credit for being an excellent heel and Corbin is just the same.
If they gave him the title, I wouldn’t even be bothered.
I like heels who can get people to hate them. There’s too many “cool heels” these days and it’s impacting the faces too. Because most of the time, they’re cooler than the guy we’re supposed to be cheering.

it's totally X-Pac Heat. as I said before, being a heel who everyone hates isn't the same as a COMPELLING heel everyone hates. he can pull all the tricks he knows out of his bag of "generic heel shit" and it doesn't mean a damn thing if people don't care. a lot of people around here are giving him credit for being an unlikable heel whilst ignoring the fact that he's still not compelling. MJF he sure f***ing ain't.

X-Pac heat for me. But that comes from them pushing him as a guy that feuds with the top babyfaces.
Corbin shouldn't have guys like Ziggler and Roode as his muscle. He should be someone else's muscle.
They're trying to make him a threat, and he just isn't.

He’s one of the reasons I gave up on wwe so yeah I guess he’s doing a great job.

I just don't even care, to be honest. He just feels like he's sucking up time I could be using for something else, which I suppose is representative of what I expect from WWE.
Kind of a negative take, but I just don't feel like heels get satisfying comeuppance, so I can't get into disliking a heel for any of the right reasons. Same reason I didn't like The Miz, same reason Ziggler kinda sucks when he's trying to be an annoying heel, all of those kinds of guys. Just never feels like I get that cathartic "yeah, you deserved that beating-of-your-lifetime, I'm glad I watched", it's just sort of "oh, he lost another match, I guess we'll just 50-50 book that the other way next week and nothing will have changed".

Yeh but why the end of days? like Corbin isn't necessarily imposing/an incredible athlete and the finisher isn't that amazing. So while it is protected no one cares/remembers. Take AND The Tombstone felt like this great force,in Corbin's case it is neither

How exactly can one distinguish this "I want to see you get your ass kicked" from "go away" heat? To me, all the boos sound the same. If a face is getting this mythical "go away" heat you can make educated guesses on why, but with a heel, there's no way to tell. If you're giving a heel positive accolades such as referring to him as cool or bad ass, then he's not doing his job.
Plus, if Corbin didn't have ANY kind of heat, fans wouldn't react to him AT ALL. In fact, we wouldn't even have a discussion about him since he'd be so irrelevant. I personally believe this whole X-pac heat thing was created by some internet smark who had this "non-kayfabe" heat for him and then the IWC just rolled with it. I doubt people in the business(wrestlers, commentators, etc etc) have even HEARD of that term, let alone debate who has it and who's getting "genuine" heat.
If a heel is getting booed, you might as assume its because of his heelish deeds and thats that.

In terms of crowd noise, that's a fair question, and it might be quite difficult to tell. That's obviously pretty beneficial to WWE, it's a happy accident that you can brush of a loud "boo" as "he's a heel, of course he's getting boo'd, that's what he's there to do".
Online, though, it's a lot easier to say "I just don't like the guy, I think his character sucks, he's green, they're shoving him down our throats, some other guy should have his spot" instead of just generic "boooooooo!".

As well as if they are a major part of a 3 hour show and the ratings are dropping fast... you can probably estimate he's part of the problem.

True, though it could be the case that he's the only heel in the whole show that people are just "into" and they want to see him get his arse kicked, rather than just thinking he's a waste of show time. There are nuances, obviously, certain crowd chants and stuff show up more when the crowd's deeply displeased or bored, but if it's a generic "boo" then it's difficult to tell sometimes.
On the whole though, yeah, if numbers are dropping like a rock, you'd probably do well to look at all of your weekly roster and do some digging into what people really think of each one, to try and figure out the details of who's considered an effective heel and who's sucking the life out of the show.

A bit of both. Actual heel heat for live fans, possible X-Pac heat from people who watch at home and post about it online. Nailed it

Low card comedy - heel heat. High card serious threat - X-Pac

Maybe it is main roster booking, maybe it's him, or a combination.

I think the dog food thing was just a big issue for most because of it reeking of Vince McMahon’s Good Shit(TM).
