To me, it seems like it's really down to CM Punk and AJ Styles.
Your choice?
I'm thinking Kofi would've gotten more votes if his reign didn't end so poorly and if he was the current champion right now.

I'd say Punk.
Removing the fact he had the longest reign, the initial angle was the hottest thing to happen in the business for quite some time and got attention from beyond the wrestling sphere. And for better or worse the pipebomb promo and his subsequent character work were the beginnings of a change in how they present the overall product.

CM Punk.
His win and entire reign embedded real life controversy and when you combine that with storylines it makes a great product. He went from face to heel in a way that given the change, most people weren't bored with it compared to if other stars did it. He put on amazing matches. He, the guy who did the Pipebomb, introduced a lot of former and new fans to the product with him as champion. He was the bridge between the 00s stars (Cena, Orton),the new indy guys (Bryan) and the NXT class (Shield). He crossed over into the mainstream and he even faced The Rock.
He hit a lot of different boxes. Hell, I even came back to wrestling after a 5 year hiatus due to him. Without Punk I wouldn't be on this forum.
Secondary I'd say it's Kofi for other reasons. Even though I liked Kofi's more, Punk just hit more areas.

Kofi deserves a vote just for finally getting the chance to take the ball and exorcise his RKO demons after 11 long years (a couple less when it comes to Orton, but still...).
No, he was never the social phenomenon that Punk was, but it was an infinitely better 'feel good' moment in WWE history.
Basically, this is a vote for him because I think he deserves that acknowledgment from someone.

I gotta go with Punk. Shame Bryan's injuries always seemed to catch up with him just as he won the title during his huge face run, but he was a fine heel champion and helped make Kofi look like a million bucks.

Punk and AJ were definitely the top two but it doesn’t even seem like they happened in the same decade to me. They both had the best feuds with Cena in this decade as well (along with The Rock)

Punk, he had some fantastic matches as champ from 2011-13.

The answer is Brock Lesnar. I think his total combined reigns are over 3 years. CM Punk might be the sentimental favorite but his reign had him playing second fiddle.

I'm thinking Kofi would've gotten more votes if his reign didn't end so poorly and if he was the current champion right now. The highlight of Kofi's reign was winning it, which admittedly was a fantastic moment and one of the highlights of the decade. Literally everything else was bland and forgettable.

I enjoyed the first couple months of Kofi's reign. Obviously the win at WM is amazing, but I was on the edge of my seat for a few of his defenses, which is something we should all want out of a face's title reign. Definitely became boring once Ziggler showed back up and they had that crap cage match, though.

Punk really had the ability to push company in to another popularity boost. Maybe not a 'boom period' like the attitude era or the Hogan years, but definitely bigger than what have had these last 10 years. If only the company had really gotten behind him.

Jinder Mahal.
History will look back and remind us of a time when he wasn't hindered.
... someone has to justify his votes.
