I don’t know how this was filmed or why there’s a camera permanently fixed on the commentary booth, but it’s a fun watch, and we can see Mauro lose his shit instead of just hearing it. youtu.be/KLTgPep-Q0Q

I freaking love Mauro. His passion for the matches gets me swept up in them too.

I freaking love Mauro. His passion for the matches gets me swept up in them too. YMMV on his pop culture references, but I’ll take his genuine excitement over Michael Cole’s forced enthusiasm.

Does anyone know
1. Where this footage came from? Why is it filmed? 2. Why we can’t hear anyone else? You see the mouths move but all we hear are Mauro.

They probably noticed how animated his responses were and decided to start filming him to have potential B-roll footage. 2.) They’ve more than likely singled out the audio from just his headset. I’d imagine recording the announcers on separate audio tracks would make it easier for them to pull lines for future vignettes/promo packages.

They always have a camera there nowadays. It's so the truck/producers can see and communicate with the commentary team.
