New Jersey March 25th. Prudential Centre. California or somewhere WWE doesn't go much anymore would have been bigger news to me. AEW doing a show in Canada would be huge for me, personally.

No announcement?

Yeah this pissed off some fans, not that I'm shocked since wrestling fans don't need much to get ornery these days but yeah I think Cody needs to either tone down the secret announcements given how much people buzz about what it could be for it to be basically nothing, or specify when it's another location announcement. This isn't the best PR for them to constantly be saying good news or a surprise only for it to be more venues, especially on Christmas Day, when last year they announced a company. People are expecting big news around this time.
That aside, that will be an amazing venue for them, big crowd.

It's also a short train ride from New York City and a place WWE's held Raws, Smackdowns, and PPV's before. People underselling this don't really know the geography here. It's essentially the first New York City AEW show.

Meltzer mentioned very recently they’ve definitely had talks about doing a Vancouver show, but that’s the only firm talk he’s heard about Canadian shows anytime soon. I’m hoping for a Winnipeg show sometime next year, but with them only running 1 show a week I might be waiting a while to see them live

Yeah. The only NFL stadium New York State has is in Buffalo and that's nowhere near NYC. You can see the Manhattan skyline clearly from MetLife on a decent day.

New Jersey March 25th. Prudential Centre. California or somewhere WWE doesn't go much anymore would have been bigger news to me. I listened to a recent interview with Bryce Remsburg and besides being a ref he does have a job within the company where he helps book the flights and travel arrangements for talent. They asked him about AEW coming to California and he said he knows they will eventually, but right now it’s hard because with the time difference you’re asking people to be at an arena for doors at 3:30/4:00 on a Wednesday. I know WWE does it, but I kinda got the impression they were waiting to be a little more established before booking on that side of the country. But who knows, that could be the next announcement now that I’ve said all this. I’m happy about the New Jersey show. I’ve been waiting for a New York date, but this will definitely do. Excited to finally go to a taping!

Hyping something up like that sounds good in theory but not when people are expecting way more than more locations.

Which leads me to believe WWE made a stink about them being in a venue they also run. Which if that's the case, god that company is even pettier than I thought. You don't control venues and what runs in them when you aren't there your one day of the year, piss off.

WWE tried to do just that with the G1 Supercard NJPW and ROH were running in MSG on Mania weekend, but either backed off or MSG caved in. I could totally see them do just that with AEW if they wanted to run the Garden. So I figure AEW would've gone to a venue where WWE doesn't have as much influence with, like the Rock, Nassau Colosseum, or even the Barclay's Center.

Yeah, WWE has a lot of pull with MSG due to how long they've been running shows there.
Both Vince's are in the MSG Hall of Fame.
For instance

Not for nothing, but I think expectations need to be tempered: Cody never said “huge news”, earth shaking news, or anything like that, he simply said “good” news. Yea but when you hype up good news on Xmas the radars go up. For such an announcement he could made it on dat after Xmas and it would been the same. The fact that he said it was an announcement on this day is what raised people radar which is not unfair
