Shock jock, Don Imus, has died at 79.
I just knew this guy as a cranky old racist. But apparently he was a big deal once upon a time.

Didn't like the guy but he did do good work helping children with cancer on the Imus Ranch. I also believe that Imus and Howard Stern had a long going feud.

I'm just curious what Stern will have to say.

He did some great work with sick and needy kids which was very cool of him to do.

I'm just curious what Stern will have to say. New Howard will absolutely kiss his ass and act like he never said anything bad about him.

My entire familiarity with Imus is Private Parts and his nappy headed ho rant that got him fired

Amazing people hold him in worse light for a lousy comment about a female basketball team while overlooking the fact he bought a ranch and pretended like it was a place to help kids with cancer but used it as a vacation home instead that he opened for one week a year to use dying kids as free labor.
As for Stern when he gets back from vacation in six months I’m sure he’ll mention how feuding with Imus made him work harder and he won’t speak ill of the dead.
The old Howard would call his widow on the phone and try to get her to do lesbian dial a date

It was a competition once upon a time, but I think even Imus would say Howard won and it wasn’t even close.
Personal thoughts on the guy aside, he was something of a pioneer, and beyond some really thoughtless and outdated comments never did anything that bad. RIP.

Sometimes when awful people die and apologists want you to forget that they were shitty people (EX: Warrior, Ultimate). I'm sorry for the guy's family and friends, but dying doesn't automatically make you a good person. Be a good person while living and you want be labeled a piece of shit when you're dead.

The former is a hell of a lot more well-known than the latter, that's why. I doubt many people know about the latter. Hell, this is the first time I've heard anyone ever mention it, but then I never really cared about Don Imus.

RIP. His show was a big part of my life from 1994 (finishing up high school) thru my college years to about 2001. A hell of a way to get edumacated about American politics of the time. The radio comedy was of course insane; got a lot of laughs from Bartlett, McCord, Larry Kenney (the voice of Lion-O!), Mike Breen and others because of his show.
