The night Daniel Bryan announces his retirement. As the event ends, we see Titus O'Neil "playfully" shove Vince. Vince was not thrilled and he pushed him back.
Then news surfaces a few days later: One of the weirdest stories this decade...

Vince overreacted like an insane person.
But why the f*** did Titus put his hands on the guy?
Everyone was stupid that day.

I remember Titus saying he pulled Vince back to let Steph leave the stage first - “ladies first” and all that gentlemanly stuff and Vince just lost it.
Clearly not the night for that.

Here's the video evidence to be the judge:
Batista says Titus should've quit:
And apparently Hunter and Mercury saved his job:

Just another case of Vince being insane.
That said if I worked for him I would keep my distance from him at all times whenever possible.

I think in the moment, Vince can be excused. I think any performer that gets grabbed or touched from behind when they're not expecting it automatically reacts as though it might be a fan that jumped the rail and their reflex instinct is to wheel around swinging.
Now, wanting to fire him and suspending him? That could have been a simple yet very firm "NEVER do that again, ok?" conversation.

Certainly an over-reaction, but to do something so stupid to an irrational egocentric like Vince, you are a f***ing moron.

Vince is freaking psychotic. I mean, he is, but "Solemn event. Better play slap-ass" is a very weird decision from Titus, too. Like, I don't think it's malicious, just not terribly bright no matter who the boss was. Though, I guess realistically, that's probably him trying to inject levity and just choosing a really poorly conceived route of going about it. 60 day suspension is absolutely bonkers, regardless. Chew him out, sure, but this is extreme.

Titus missed a WreatleMania payday because of this.
Few years earlier Titus's kids were ringside for one of his matches.....

I understand Vince being annoyed in the moment, but the way he wanted Titus fired for it was absolutely ridiculous and Titus should indeed have quit.

I can understand Vince not being happy about it, but I also agree with Batista. Not really worth suspending or firing him over it, just have a conversation with the dude.

At worst, Titus should've gotten a stern talking-to about never doing anything like that again. A 60-day suspension and nearly firing the guy was ridiculous.

Do not put hands on people unless it is part of the show.

I always hear stories about how you have to “have balls” and “be a man” when it comes to Vince.
Well, this story proves otherwise.
If I’m working in that company, I’d keep my distance at all times. This man would be the type of bloke who would probably fire you for approaching him and then also fire you for not approaching him. I can’t think of anything more toxic than working in an environment like that, where you’re constantly on your toes and guessing what mood your boss is in and what effect it will have on your life.
