Something about that exchange looks too awkward to me. I like exchange's like this but this one just seems a bit sloppy like they where overthinking every single move.
To post an exchange I like, I give you Natsuki Taiyo vs Yuhi. While they didn't do all the high flying Jordan Oliver and Blake Christian try, they do quite a few of the same moves but make it look so much more fluid

Having watched the clip, I honestly think it was more "realistic" than if they started throwing punches at each other like it was Funk vs Lawler. I'd completely buy that both of their strategies would be "avoid getting hit at all costs" in a fight.

Doesn’t look any less fake or stupid than half the punches you see in wrestling Only Hat Ref throws good punches anymore.

Only real problem I have with this is that these two aren't doing it well. Besides that, yeah, whatever, it's fine. Not really my cup of tea but I hardly think it's ruining anything and if someone does enjoy it, awesome for them.

If they were either I dunno... quicker or more fluid with the movements it'd look better.

The poor ref in the joshi match could get dizzy watching that.
The only real issue I have with either sequence is the use of too many kip-ups.

Someone posted a clip in the comments of one of these tweets of an old ROH match between Low-Ki and Amazing Red that featured a similar sequence, with the crucial difference that it looked like Low-Ki's missed strikes would have sent Red into another county if he connected with them. It looked like a intense fight, not a tumbling routine practice. Same basic concept but the execution makes all the difference in the world.

Terrible remake of Riccochet and Osprey, no story telling at all.

neither of these guys have any ring presence. Didn't even remotely look like they were competing against each other. No real story. No real charisma. Just two guys doing a tumbling routine. This is shit

I mean, I've never wrestled a day in my life, she has, therefore if she says that there's a story of one upmanship, there must be one, she's the actual wrestler, we're not. That’s an odd take to have. Telling a story should come across to the audience and not just to other wrestlers. Don’t think her being a wrestler gives her any more of an insight on this particular subject. It is just bullshit wrestlers say. I think fans can have opinions and like what they like. Wrestlers that were fans have guys they like and dislike. I mean jericho talks about being a major Hulkamaniac. He also shits entirely on Mil Mascaras and Koji Kitao as workers. He also shit on mal mason as a ref. We as fans can shit on the product. Like i will shit on intergender wrestling being uncomfortable to watch. I will shit on chikara being cosplay white people doing shitty lucha I will call shitty wrestling shitty. These wrestlers saying we are all negative just have thin f***ing skin and need to get better at insulting the fans. The way Baron corbin, rusev, and big e come back at shithead fans is greatness

This was choreographic dance routine that looked like shit because neither guy was particularly smooth

Kill the business? No. They just stink at doing what they were going for. If they did it the way those japanese girls did it would have been well received. Those gals looked they were trying to win. Those guys were just trying to impress. The worst part is that last sequence where they both crouch down and then just stare at each other. Why won't one of you punch the other right there? Or headlock or something.

I think this is a good example of social media preventing wrestlers from experimenting. Before you'd be able to try different stuff and if it worked great and if it didn't well you just did it once on a show and moved on. Now basically every event is treated like a major PPV so its difficult to actually "try" anything without someone jumping on you

Not my cup of tea, didn't like it. I too couldn't see the story of "top this" during that. Plus I've seen it done better by guys like RVD/Jerry Lynn back in the day.
Hope it gets these guys more bookings though. Doesn't matter if I like it, everyone in the biz deserves to make money.

Yeah I love some flippy shit but this was just badly executed. Really didn't look good at all. The stand off at the end was stupid too. You're right next to each other. DO SOMETHING!
Incidentally I love some Ospreay flippy shit but I cannot stand the "super hero pose" thing.

Pretty sure they did it at half speed on purpose.
Not sure what their point was though.
