72. Hunt for the Wilderpeople
A foster child and his guardian run off into the wilds of New Zealand and get chased by the police for several months. Part buddy comedy, part chase movie, part feel-good family movie. And someone gets shot in the ass.

192. The Warriors (1979) - Watched this on DVD. I've been playing the video game adaptation lately, which gave me an itch to dig up my old DVD of it. FYI, it was the DVD of the theatrical cut. Anyway, it had been quite a while since I last watched it. I would definitely say that this movie definitely deserves its cult status, which is why it's considered legendary even to this day. It's so quotable. The diversity of the gangs gives it an interesting vibe. Sure, it's low budget and cheesy, but that's what makes the movie so good in its own way.

324. The Machine Girl *DVD* This was a lot more serious than I expected or wanted. While the gore was graphic it was also very infrequent. There were a lot of drawn out portions of actual story. It played out like a Final Fantasy game and even thought I love RPGs I didn’t really want that tonight. The fight choreography was really impressive though. And like I said the gore was nuts when it did happen. Some of it was typical bad CGI but there was some impressive practical gore too. It was nice to see a movie with strong female leads that didn’t beat it over your head like modern movies do. Ami and Miki are in the same league as Sarah Conner and Ripley. That’s not going to stop me from being a little peeved that there were no boobs. Minase Yashiri is absolutely delectable and a fat old white dude has his itches that need to be scratched.

So I was wondering. Regarding documentaries, I would say that some could count as I had listed one earlier this year. But where do you draw the line for some? Because if I watch a wrestling-related one, I could count the likes of Wrestling with Shadows or Beyond the Mat. The ones produced by WWE, not so much, except maybe The Mania of Wrestlemania, as that one was produced by WWE Studios.
I am watching Liv Forever and I really wonder if that should count at all.

Me personally, I tend to count something - documentary or not - as long as it's over 45-50 minutes, I personally haven't counted anything from the Network but I don't think anybody would hold it against you if you did

Meh. Average 70s Blaxploitation movie. Yaphet Koto is decent but the rest of the cast isn't good.

Considering the voice cast and premise, this isn't nearly as funny as it should be. Despite that, there's a lot to like here, including fun action, a heartwarming plot, and likable characters. [***½]

193. They Live - Watched it on Blu Ray. I felt like watching this. I had not watched this in so long and I remember owning the DVD of it, until finding out that the Scream Factory released a Blu Ray of it. I had it for a while but hadn't gotten around to watching it. Anyway, I can see that this film is considered a cult classic. For 1980s standards, it's kind of odd to see Roddy Piper play the main character in a movie, especially since he was a wrestler and this was also before Hulk Hogan starred in No Holds Barred (part of me wants to revisit that) or even those straight-to-video B-movies that Piper was in during the 1990s (two of which he starred opposite Billy Blanks). This film was a bit slow, but I think repeated viewings help show the plot when you think about it. It seems like for the first half-hour, it's mostly about people who are down on their luck struggling with work and living. Then comes the part with the sunglasses and the plot starts to make more sense. Also, you can't help but enjoy that fight scene for different reasons. It definitely lives up to its reputation.

325. A Few Screws Loose/Beaten to a Pulp *DVD* There couldn’t be a better title to describe this movie (and its viewers) than “A Few Screws Loose”. It’s a disjointed trip much like the Vomit Gore Series and a lot of the other weird gore shit I watch but surprisingly tame. There is gore but a lot of the violence and killing is off-screen. What I did like was the gonzo crash editing to the video and the sound, the pornogrind synth soundtrack and some of the cool non-violence scenes like the two girls throwing the garbage can around. Some of the acting was really great too. Terrible but so over-the-top terrible that it was incredible. So much of this movie is nonsensical and that’s why I loved it. I’m not even sure what the story was. I think it was about a simpleton who kinda idolizes a homocidal underground porn director but gets beaten up by him so he seeks revenge. But there’s a scene halfway in of the porn director getting killed. Then he’s in the next scene alive killing randos. Then there’s a scene where some guy who’s never been in the movie up until that point attacks a girl jogging but she ends up killing him. It was almost as if they accidentally edited some parts of a different movie in and didn’t bother watching the final product before sending it to DVD...printing...factory...place. A few screws loose indeed. Loved it.

583. Road Kill (aka Joy Ride) (2001) – I do remember watching this around the time of it's DVD release but remembered very little of it besides the cast (including the voice of Ted Levine) and it's a watchable thriller overall revisiting it but I kind of see why I didn't really remember it that well.
584. The Great Outdoors (1988) – enjoyable comedy, though if I was being honest with myself it's far from John Candy or Dan Aykroyd's best. There is still a lot that makes me laugh including the scene with the bear at the end
585. Wagon's East (1994) – one of the few John Candy films I had never seen and is most famous for being the film Candy died during production of. The film is okay, I wish he had a better film for his last film but I guess there is an whole bunch of actors you could say that about with there last roles.
I'm going to aim for 600 movies by the end of the year, I could do more but it's a nice figure to aim for

It's an uncomfortable watch at times and that's the point. Sarah Paulson is fantastic as an unhinged woman who puts her child through hell. It's gripping, dramatic, and intense. [***½]

326. 100 Tears *DVD* I got this DVD twice and both copies skipped at the beginning. I was going to just watch what I could and return it a second time but the skipping was just at the beginning, it only interrupted a small bit of plot... ...and I really could give a crap about the plot. The violence was off the chart and the guy who played the clown was so good in the role. It made up for the boring ass plot, which really took up way too much of the movie and sucked hard. It’s apparently a black comedy but there was really nothing funny in it. Unless it was so bad that I didn’t even know it was supposed to be comedy. I decided to just keep the DVD though.

73. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
Is it as good as the original? Yes and no. The story is a bit weaker and the “running around New York” montage is hokey and unbelievable. But then it has Tim Curry at his oily, smarmy best as the Concierge. It is a Christmas classic.

I just put my order in for the Synapse set I’d say I hope I didn’t build it up too much to you but if anything I didn’t build it up enough. 328. Violent Shit II: Mother Hold My Hand *DVD* Since this and the first movie are on the same disc and since it was still in my PlayStation from when I watched the first one again last night and since it’s a f***ing masterpiece I decided to watch this again.
