Almost 6.5 years later. I guess this would be the biggest in-ring victory this decade in WWE.
Knowing what we know now at the end of the decade. Was it worth it? Was that the right time?
Could someone else have ended the streak?
Or should it currently be at 26-0?

Streak should have been broken, but they picked the wrong guy to do it.

Look at their ratings and attendance before that match. Look at it now. Case closed.

Yes, it was worth it.
Taker's been underwhelming every single 'Mania after that one, excluding maybe the match vs. Shane O'Mac.
It was best possible time and Lesnar needed that after all the crap with Triple H.

It was best possible time and Lesnar needed that after all the crap with Triple H. That was one of the most boring matches I've ever seen, personally. I think his most entertaining WM match since the Brock match has been the one with Cena and that was a complete squash. The one with Bray was also better than expected, given that Bray was working hurt.

That match vs. Cena is kind of fun it at least happened (tag matches and other encounters that happened before weren't made to be anything special either...), but I don't ever want to revisit 'em as it still only makes me mourn for actual match. I think that match vs. Shane blew away all my expectations during that year. Shane had not been involved with wrestling in years and it had that great HIAC spot. I remember thinkin' why an earth is the Fists of Fury gray Shane wrestling Underaker @ 'Mania, regardless...

Given everything we know now (Taker was basically cooked, Brock was never going to transfer that rub to anyone, Cena was going to essentially fade away instead of going out with a bang, they were going to eventually do Cena vs. Taker anyway), the Streak Breaker should have been Cena cheating to break The Streak and doing a Hollywood Heel Cena run to put over Roman (or Dean, or Seth, or Bryan) properly on his way out.
