pretty self-explanatory poll.
lots of dumb stuff happens in comics, so I just went with the stuff that came off as particularly stupid to me. if you can think of anything worse, please tell me. I'm a big fan of idiotic comic stories.

Joker's Boner is glorious & has no place on this list. Who doesn't enjoy Joker's Boner?
There was a point in the late '90s when Wally West kept dying. At the end of every arc he would say something like "Sorry, Jay, Bart. But to save the universe I have to sacrifice myself... to the Speed Force!" Then he'd be back in a few issues time. He kept disappearing & reappearing so often I lost interest.

Civil War. Iron Man is so cool, why did Marvel have to make him into an un-likeable douche?

Spider-man Clone Saga single handedly made me stop reading Marvel Comics for 5+ years.

The Blood and Thunder crossover between Thor/Silver Surfer?Thanos?Infinty Watch went waaaaaaay too long and Thor went insane for no apparrent reason... only good to come out of it was to see how badass Odin truly was and his battle with Thanos was gold

Clone Saga, for sure, but Civil War was retarted, too. I love the Cyclops cheating on everyone plot point, though.

tying into the Hal Jordan option, his return a couple years ago making Parallax into some sort of alien parasite that changed him instead of him going insane and almost destroying the universe was completely stupid since it basically said that nothing he did in his time as Parallax was his fault so that makes him a hero again by default and his attempt at redemption in Final Night where he temporarily died before becoming the Spectre becomes cheapened.
I voted for this one since I'm not much of a Spidey reader so luckily I didnt suffer through the various character assasinations the character went through over the years

'Scarlet Witch was normally pretty powerful.. BUT LETS MAKE HER UBER" I'm assuming you're talking about House of M? yeah that was kind of retarded. at least it serves a purpose in making writers have to come up with a good origin story instead of "so and so is a Mutant" ad-nauseum

Tough to say...Clone Saga made me stop reading comics for several years. That Gwen Stacy pity-banging Norman Osborn was HORRIBLE. I've got two others from recent books that are really hurting me....
1. Spider-Man, traumatized by the events of Civil War, returns to his black costume, and vows to whale all over criminals everywhere...except when he's with his New Avenger pals, who he still feels the need to crack funny with.
2. In order to please Mistress Death, Thanos goes on an epic quest to retrieve the six Infinity Gems, using all his power and cunning to assemble them. In The Illuminati, Reed Richards is able to get three with no effort at all, he and his flunkies get two more with relative ease, and the last one simply literally appears out of thin air.
PS-Bendis wrote both of these. I'm rapidly wondering why they're giving him so many big books to screw around with.

I voted for the Spider Clone Saga (ugh) but I suddenly remembered the single worst comic arc I've ever heard.
Superman changes from his classic, iconic custume into a powder blue and white, capeless, full body unitard with electric eyeballs.
I loved how every single DC comic writer involved with the story kept saying "This isn't a gimmick! It's for real! We're keeping the new costume! This will usher in a new era of Superman!", then they changed it back after six months to the old school costume after violently negative fan reaction. That has to be the single worst idea in comics ever.

Spider-Man, no matter how badly he's feeling, cracks jokes in battle. If he didn't, he'd go insane. That's been a regular character point for a while now.

For me, anything having to do with Havok, Cyclop's younger brother. I just can't stand the character.

Other. Tim Drake resigns and Stephanie Brown (The Spoiler) becomes the female Robin. Thankfully that didn't last. She must've had her period or something.

I really want to attempt to get in the Batman series. Marvel has gotten so awful lately I need something new, and Batman seems to be the only interesting DC character
